The feature segments on the upcoming treasure hunts and those contributing for the 2022 Masquerade Tribute continue with David Cohen and WHAT HIDES THE PRIZE? Six Different Treasure Hunts, for six different treasures to claim, for the 2022 Masquerade Tribute will be released on the Spring Equinox (3/20/22). All proceeds of this event are given to charity. This year four great causes: St. Jude’s, The Humane Society, Autism Research, and TheSamFund are being donated to. (Learn more about the charities here). Near $4,500 was raised last year! Register early for the event to take part in all the Pre-Fun, games, and contests. These offer the chance to win additional treasures. It is turning out to be another epic treasure hunting year.
Previous feature segments were posted on Forgotten History Hunts and The Art of Hidden Messages, who both contributed hunts in 2021. Although 2022 is the first year David has created a hunt for the Masquerade Tribute, his name is certainly familiar and admired by those in the treasure hunting community.
David, along with other team members, won one of the nine 2021 Masquerade Tribute Hunts, Higher and Higher. He solved MasterMind by Jason Griffin in the Spring of 2021, and David is known for creating the wonderful and clever 52 Master Pieces armchair treasure hunt puzzle contest in 2016. You can say he is the Master Puzzler. 52MasterPieces.com is a website filled with fun challenges, and their solutions. If wanting to practice and build your skills of thinking outside the box, be sure to visit the site. While the treasures of that hunt have all been claimed, the puzzles remain and are all free to play, enjoy, and learn from.
And….you may remember David from the first contest of this year’s Tribute: Scrabblegrams. A Scrabblegram is a message that uses each of the 100 tiles from a Scrabble game exactly once. Multiple entries were submitted in the contest. Have a glance at those, and try your hand at crafting one yourself. For inspiration, check out the ‘deck’ of Scrabblegrams and more on David’s site.
David is a wealth of fun and will be sharing more of this talent in WHAT HIDES THE PRIZE? The hunt will be fully armchair- meaning all can be solved and claimed from home. The treasures are a deep purple amethyst geode egg on a brass rabbit stand, an “Impossible / Levitating” Tensegrity table, a rare amethyst rainbow crystal geode egg, and a deck of Scrabblegram cards (for each member of a winning team, max 5). Valued at approx. $250.

There are some exciting NEW details for the 2022 Masquerade Tribute. One of which are the Drawings for the Treasure Caches. In this year’s 2022 Masquerade Tribute are drawings for The Family Treasure Cache (value over $100), The Seeker’s Treasure Cache (value over $150), and The Collector’s Treasure Cache (value over $250). Depending on registration level, you will be automatically entered into 1, 2, or all 3 of the drawings- and the Bonus Treasure Cache drawing. (see Registration Page for full details)
There are Five Different Donation Levels of Registration:
- Donate $19.79 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials (and automatically entered into a contest drawing for Bonus Treasure Cache)
- Donate $30 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials and receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them for free.
- Donate $50 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, and be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1.
- Donate $75 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1, and Treasure Cache #2.
- Donate $100 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1, Treasure Cache #2 and Treasure Cache #3.
