The 2022 Masquerade Tribute involves many from the treasure hunting community, and beyond, in different ways. The following provides a simple overview of this EPIC EVENT.  It really is ‘thee’ armchair treasure hunt event of the year!

1Q) What is the 2022 Masquerade Tribute?

Each year Armchair Treasure Hunters come together as a community to not only pay tribute to the 1979 treasure hunt entitled ‘Masquerade’, the first hunt which coined the term ‘armchair treasure hunt’, but to pay tribute to the entire hobby. Multiple Treasure Hunts are part of the Masquerade Tribute. They are released on the Spring Equinox (3/20/22). Register early to be ready at launch. There are six different treasure hunts, with six different treasures to claim, in the 2022 Masquerade Tribute.

All proceeds of this event are given to Charity.

2Q) What are the Charities for the Masquerade Tribute of Hunts?

In 2022, all proceeds for the tribute will be donated to St. Jude’s, The Humane Society, Autism Research, and TheSamFund. (Click to learn more). In 2021 near $4500 was donated. The amount donated is equally divided between the different charities.

3Q) Who are the Treasure Hunt Contributors?

TC Treasure, Forgotten History Hunts, @DominoAdventure, David Cohen, The Art of Hidden Messages, and Mysterious Writings are the contributors of the treasure hunts for 2022. 

These treasure hunt contributors are respected and active members of the treasure hunting community. They are skilled and talented creators. They are donating their time and treasures to offer fun adventures to those participating in the Masquerade Tribute. Each of the hunts and prizes are listed below (after this quick overview). Each is unique and one of a kind hunt and treasures!

There is also a bonus prize for the Searcher who solves the last Tribute Hunt of the event! Fun to the end!

4Q) What are the Treasure Cache Drawings?

New to the 2022 Masquerade Tribute are treasure cache drawings. There are 4 different treasure caches a registered searcher for the Tribute can be automatically entered into.

The items in these caches have been donated by other active members of the treasure hunting community. The Treasure Cache Drawings and those Donors are listed below (after this quick overview)  

5Q) What are the levels of Registration?

There are five different levels of registration.

1. Donate $19.79 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials and automatically entered into a contest drawing for Bonus Treasure Cache
2. Donate $30 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, Receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them for free, and be automatically entered into a contest drawing for Bonus Treasure Cache.
3. Donate $50 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, and be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1 and the Bonus Treasure Cache.
4. Donate $75 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1, Treasure Cache #2, and the Bonus Treasure Cache.
5. Donate $100 or over: Searcher will be registered for all Six Tribute Hunt Materials, receive one of the collectible Tribute Cards sent to them, be automatically entered in a contest drawing for Treasure Cache #1, Treasure Cache #2, Treasure Cache #3, and the Bonus Treasure Cache.

In the paypal link please include any needed information. Everyone will need to include their MW Forum Username. This is to gain access to the MW Forum’s Masquerade Tribute Section for Registered Hunters where the Six Hunts are being released on 3/20/2022.  

If you have donated $30 or more please include your address. One of the Collectible Tribute Cards will be sent to you free. These are a circular business card. They are a small memento for the Tribute and act like a trading card for the six 2022 hunts.

BONUS Treasure:

Whoever solves the last remaining treasure hunt puzzle, will not only win the prize for that particular hunt, but will also be awarded a bonus treasure prize. Fun until the very end!
