Forrest didn’t want to miss out on the fun of creating a unique decorated egg picture and so decided to make one himself. It’s a beautiful example of what can be submitted for the contest!
Here is what Forrest has to say about his egg:
“The wooden egg in center is an egg that Eric carved, coated with gesso and signed for me. He just liked doing things like that. The green leaves are peppermint from the little stream that flows into our pond. The wormy looking things are cottonwood seeds that fell into my pond along with thousands of their brothers and sisters, requiring me to skim them lest they taint the water and bring my fish displeasure.”
Such a treasured friendship he and Eric Sloane had, as Forrest’s perfect egg picture displays.
Thanks for all the entries!

Awesome Egg Picture, Forrest. Thanks for sharing it!
Is the white pipe cleaners and the background leather?
It is very appealing!
Hope you are doing well, Forrest! 🙂
That is sweet Forrest… I thought about Mr Sloane and his cloud paintings today… The pipe cleaners are a nice touch 🙂
Nice to hear from you Forrest! Glad to see you are enjoying the spring weather. 🙂
O yeah, I like it.
Sweet Forrest, Like YOU!
Happy Easter!
Beautiful and touching. 🙂
Happy Easter to you Forrest & the Fenn family!
Thanks for taking a break from skimming the pond to say hello and post a story. Your fish and Teseque have a good thing going.
Forrest – It is good that you have Cottonwood trees right there,…if you are not feeling well. Their components are used to cure lots of ailments:

One of the books I read mentioned that the sap from the sticky buds smells really good on your fingers if you pick them,…which is only once a year. I think it said the sap smells like cinnamon.
And in that link,…the photo at the top looks a lot like that tree covered in Snow pictured in your Scrapbook 52,…was that a Cottonwood Tree?
I hope you feel better…
Forrest – Here is that tree from your SB 52:
