Are there Pokedex Number clues in There’s Treasure Inside Pokémon Treasure Box chapter?

First what are they? Pokédex numbers are the official identification numbers assigned to each Pokémon in the Pokémon universe. Think of them like catalog numbers in a library. They provide a consistent way to identify Pokémon.

There could be different clues being given in the numbers. For instance, it’s been mentioned that there are two Charizard Cards shown on the face page of this chapter. Charizard’s Pokedex number is a 6. So it could be a clue to 66. Route 66. How this is further used, if intended to be a clue, is unclear.

Another example of a Pokedex number as a clue is with the Froakie. Jon specifically chose this Pokémon for the main character in the story. It’s number is 656. Route 65 (North and South/Forward and backward-656) is the main highway leading to a region in Arkansas that other clues believed found in the text connect to as well. Again, it is not certain this is the intended meaning. Just an option to consider.

Other ways the numbers might be clues is as exit numbers, mile markers. Maybe you add or subtract them? Searchers continue to try various ideas.

Here is a list of the Pokémon mentioned in the chapter, with their Pokedex numbers.
