I am honored for TC Treasure as a co-host for the 6th Annual Masquerade Tribute Hunt for 2026! The Tribute has grown and evolved each year. We’ve experimented with different formats and creative twists along the way, always looking for new ways to engage the community while supporting a meaningful cause.

This year is One hunt. One bounty. One clear mission – ONE GREAT EVENT

Through the years OVER $15,000 has been raised for various charities – and TC Treasure has been a part of that. He released the hunts:

OVER THE MOON (2022)
UNDER THE SUN (2024)

And now for 2026 – INTO THE STARS! Let’s learn more about INTO THE STARS from TC Treasure!
Six Questions with TC TREASURE:

  • 1Q) Your hunts are consistently well-designed, thoughtfully planned, and expertly executed. Into The Stars, the final chapter in the Back of Beyond trilogy, is looking even more fun! Did you always envision this as a three-part journey, or did the trilogy evolve as each hunt unfolded?

Thanks so much, Jenny! The “Back of Beyond” trilogy really only evolved into one over time. When Over the Moon launched, the goal was simply to create a single hunt with a strong sense of mystery and adventure. As it unfolded—and as the community responded to it—it became clear there was room to explore the concept further, which led to Under the Sun. From there, the only logical progression was to write a final chapter and take us Into the Stars!

  • 2Q) Without giving anything away, what type of experience do you hope searchers walk away with after completing this final hunt? What do they need to do to participate?

More than anything, I hope folks walk away with a sense of wonder. The best treasure hunts invite you to look at the world around you a little differently. You notice things you might normally pass by, you follow the thread of mystery, you enjoy the process of discovery. If Into the Stars does that, I’ll consider it a success.

As for participating, all you really need is a curious temperament, a willingness to explore, and of course the hunt itself, which can be ordered at https://stars.hunt.tc. The rest is just solving the clues to see where they take you!

  • 3Q) What mindset or approach do you think will best help seekers succeed in Into the Stars?

The Seeker’s sharpest tool is always an open mind.

  • 4Q) Does finishing this trilogy feel like a closing chapter, or the beginning of something new creatively?

It’s certainly a bit of both. In a lot of ways it feels like a ceremonial final nod to Kit Williams and his amazing creation, but the gate is of course now swinging open to new possibilities.

It also feels poignant to present this final chapter in honor of our friend Brad “Cluemaster” TeGantvoort, whose enthusiasm for treasure hunting and the spirit of discovery helped inspire and bring together so many in our community. It felt right to dedicate this last chapter of the journey to someone who truly embodied that sense of curiosity and adventure. Today would have been Cluey’s 61st birthday. ☘️

  • 5Q) What has been the most meaningful moment you’ve witnessed from the community during any one of your hunts?

Of course it’s so tough to choose just a single moment, but one thing that always sticks with me is seeing our youngest hunters becoming Seekers in their own right—like Ben Ellingson: his first find came when he was still a scout, toddling around the Twin Cities with his dad, Josh (and their pup Penny). Now, five years later, he’s out there tracking down the caches himself—already cementing his legend as a talented finder!

Ben uncovers a Viridian Skies Cache in Minnesota

Moments like these show how these hunts start to become part of folks’ everyday lives. Over time, they stop being just puzzles to solve and become something more communal—people exploring together, sharing ideas, and encouraging each other along the way. The last 24 hours notwithstanding (🥵), it’s been such a joyful, organic experience that for me, and for many TC Treasure hunters, life really does begin to echo the Chase. Seekers start approaching the world with a little more curiosity and a little more attention to the unexpected.

If you’ll forgive my schmaltz, it’s the closest thing to magic I’ve ever actually experienced.

  • 6Q) For those who may not realize just how much you’re involved in, can you give us a glimpse into everything you’re working on at the moment? And plans for the future?

Sometimes I even lose track! — TC Treasure’s monthly newsletter WAYFINDER is a great way to keep on top of all our goings-on. We also have memberships at five different tiers for those hardcore hunters who like to soak up every detail a chase has to offer. Additionally, our cheeky AI assistant C.H.A.S.E. is always available to help you navigate at TCTreasure.com.

At the present moment, we’re wrapping up the third chapter of the Heartland Saga, Viridian Skies—with part four, Cerulean Shores, beginning in July.

We also have four nationwide hunt offerings currently available: Kindred Spirits, The Serpents’ Stone, Frozen in Time, and The Cube. Our second “MacGuffin Press Mystery,” Red Valley is coming soon—with others still in the further offing.

In our home region, we’ll be hosting our first ever Tournament of Champions this May-June—something akin to a local “March Madness” of treasure hunting, if all goes according to plan. We’ll also be presenting the 14th edition of our flagship event, the Great Twin Cities Treasure Hunt, this summer—among a handful of other smaller hunts for our local roster of usual suspects
