Good Day Treasure Seekers,

I hope this message finds you well. I am left only trying to imagine the air of brilliant and tantalizing energy pulsating through the attendees right now. The level of enthusiasm from people like yourself is a constant source of joy for me. Thank you for that. Thank you for being you.

Jenny asked me to express what I feel are the most important lessons I shared within my book, There’s Treasure Inside. Surely this is an impossible question to answer, but I will point to at least three things today.

First and foremost, I challenge you to persevere. Perseverance will be one of the biggest challenges for some of you because you were born with a blessing. You burn hot. You have passion. You remember the thrill of discovering the unknown as if you were still six years old, because that feeling of wonder never left you. But the hottest flame can also melt the wick. What shines brightest and fastest can sometimes more easily burn out. So how do we persevere?

One way is to persevere is to always always rely on inspiration. Ask for it. Seek it out. Pray for it. Be a connoisseur of inspiration. Drink it up. What makes you happy? Follow those things, because inspiration most likely rests within them. Inspiration invites new perspectives, new relationships, new hopes and new dreams. Inspiration will be the engine for your perseverance.

And gratitude is the fuel for that engine. Practice gratitude, and you’ve already won. Gratitude is absolute in its victory. Give praise for your loved ones, for your health, and for your ability to be here around these other sparkling people at this event. Celebrate when you get a blister. Let it remind you of all the places where you have no blister. Celebrate a flat tire and your lost bag. Let it remind you of all the trips you’ve taken that went off without a hitch.

Appreciate the beauty of the hike on the way to finding a treasure box. Then enjoy it even more when you walk back out empty-handed. Simply give thanks for the opportunity to hunt. Because, at the end of the day, when you’ve become an expert in gratitude, your perseverance will be limitless. And that will bring you immeasurably more joy.

Yours in the hunt,

Jon Collins-Black
