Is there an EXCEL clue to OHIO for the Past & Future Treasure box? I think maybe!
Clues for the Past and Future box keep being found! Recently I found a possible clue to support the box being hidden in the state of the OHIO.
In the chapter text is the following sentence: “But it is a game I am pretty sure you can EXCEL at.”
EX CEL can be found in the Word Search. Although not in the standard straight-line method, it remains curious since there is only ONE X in the Word Search and the other letters to spell EX CEL surround it.
Plus, the X is in both the words MIX and EX CEL. As if hints.
- Mix hinting to finding the hidden anagram message. (more here)
- EX CEL possibly hinting to a direction to find what words to apply.
EX is seen going back diagonally. CEL is going backwards horizontally.
The word OHIO – often overlooked – goes in the same direction as (EX) like as in – X Marks the spot! OHIO. It is the only word to go in this direction.
Then there are the many backwards words found – like how CEL is.
EX – X – marks the state – OHIO. (going in same direction)
And CEL or the words going backwards could be used to narrow down the search (along with the Cryptogram, Text, and other things in the chapter.)
The numbers: 12, 3, 9, and 0 are found.
With the words: North, state, lilac, rail, water, dirt, peaks, west, walk.
There could be other words you use or find – but I like the idea that a game you can EX CEL might just give X marks the spot/state – OHIO.
