  1. I think I understand My War for Me chapter now…a little better? Being young means you have so much to learn still..then being wise is overcoming ego to live in peace?

“The language of battle conveys the strenuous, long, drawn-out campaign we must wage to free ourselves from the tyranny of the ego, the cause of all our suffering and sorrow.”

  2. I dreamed the other night that I had been reincarnated as Captain Kid and went to Gardiner’s island looking for the treasure. It scared me so badly I was jarred awake and don’t remember whether I found it or not.

Ah-ha! Forrest, It was your ego that woke you from your dream!!! 🙂

    OH!
  3. I firmly believe that at this point ff does not want to see anyone else hurt, lost, arrested, bankrupted or with destroyed relationships over this creative attempt to inspire families to see God’s creation. It has to be frustrating and sometimes heartbreaking to hear a few of the negative stories that sometimes supersede all the uplifting and life-changing times that searchers have experienced. I predict an eventual recovery of the trove, so simple, so safe and so sensible that it will prove to be the equivalent of a stroll in the park – rather than an Indiana Jones-like adventure.

  4. Thanks Forrest and Jenny. Great advice!
The picture reminds me of Enki’s Journey to Nibru. I’m motivated to read the story tonight. It looks like an artfully bright crenellation rising out from the abzu. Beautiful–Happy 100th B-day to our National Parks, by the way–find your park!

  5. Is anyone else excited to see the snow fly this year? Snow always symbolizes a new season or a fresh start. The snow will give me a much needed break from solving Fenn’s poem. I am too my limits thinking that this can be solved. My Chaco Canyon solve just was not adding up. I got to the point where I wrapped up a queen set of sheets in a grocery bag (which was very close to the measurements of Indulgence) and sent pictures of the wrapped gift to Forrest on his birthday. I was trying to convince him that I found his secret hiding spot. The pictures were so bad that you would have thought I was hunting Bigfoot instead of Indulgence.
I know that Fenn’s name and reputation is unshakeable and that the chest is waiting to be found. There are so many places that Indulgence could be hiding. West Yellowstone is on my list. Someone also suggested Devil’s Punch Bowl. This looks really interesting, especially the cliff jumping.

    1. Hintofrinches…. I went to Chaco last year on search. Actually just north of Chaco.. a place called Bisti/Ne Na Zin. This secret place is incredible, it’s basically unknown and looks like a Martian landscape. We were the only people out there — not another soul for 15 miles. It’s steeped in ancient culture, dinosaur bones and archaeological controversy.

We knew it was off the map.. but the X of “New Mexico” lies directly overhead! This along with so many clues that lined up well, sent us off on a mystical journey to this place. I don’t think the TC is there but if anyone wants to experience a truly bizarre, amazing and remote place… De Na Zin (Ojo Alamo) is it.

    1. SL –

There you go again… Talking the good talk.. A beam of light can be a Ray of light, which can measure times of the year. I am fascinated how intricate and sophisticated native american dwellings are, especially in reference to the sun and other celestial bodies. I knew nothing, but quick to learn. I am still trying to figure out how that Rooster fits in…

      Happy Weekend!

      1. Mike Forni –

Hope that your weekend is going well – Insofar as how “that Rooster fits in?” Can’t really say, as I don’t know! If you’re thinking about John Wayne;…. he’s the handsome bud of an HOD poster. (One of the best, actually!). Check out Scrapbooks 50 & 53 over there. (Great shot of JW!)

Will be back to discuss those “beams ‘n rays” later.

        1. SL-

You carry a sharp eye! I’m watching you! Thanks for the tips! You seem to be a step ahead of me but don’t count me out. Lol

I told Fenn, “he who laughs last always laughs the loudest.” 😀

          Have a great week!

          1. Mike Forni,

            Cut me some slack!! (smile-wink),

Just trying to decide if his “sandwich” is actually another name for a..’Sand-Which’, ( Walking staff?? ).

The cover of “Too Far to Walk also” includes a shadow of a person possibly holding one?

BTW…..Couldn’t having that “last laugh” be an indication of.a person with…. lesser depth & humility?

            1. SL –

Oh…, do I have a lot to say about that famous “Sandwich” Its going to take some time. I am covered up right now but will circle back later in the week to discuss the mysteries of the Sandwich. 🙂

              Best,
              Mike

            2. SL –

We seem to think and process pictures alike. In reference to your Sand-Which question. Some have said it sounds a lot like “sand-wedge”. A sand wedge is used on a golf course to hit your ball out of a sand trap. I am amazed on how many references to clues/hints in the Chase are tied to golf. However, I don’t want to show my hand unless someone is throwing some chips into the pot (poker table) with me. So, I will give you a clue/hint on how the Chase is related to golf, but you (or someone else on this blog) has to reciprocate with a clue/hint. The first person that cannot provide a clue/hint related to golf must “fold” and the other person wins. Are you up to the challege? Its a game of wits (princess bride). LOL

My first hint: Fenn tells us about Tea with Olga. (TTOTC p. 115 – 117). Popular story. In the story he drinks Red Tea, Black Tea and Green Tea with Olga. Most people think this is a hint. I say its a hint to a golf course. Red Tees, Black Tees and Green Tees represent Tee Boxes that golfers start at depending their experience/handicap. “Tea” and “Tee” are pronounced the same. Its just a play on words…

              Your turn. 🙂

              1. ACE — a hole in one! I
ADDRESS – “addressing the ball” which means the golfer is standing there preparing to hit the ball
                Wood– club/iron

                I also know this.
TC Electronic Nova System and a PolyTune pedal. He is especially enthusiastic Poem and Map of the Rockies where Forrest Fenn’s Treasure is Hidden. Where Warm Waters Halt has been a hot topic since the 2010 release of Forrest Fenn’s treasure Questions with Fenn Archive 1: posted May 23 (the first) to June 20, 2014:. Question posted 6/20/2014: I have a question for Mr. Fenn: When you hid your treasures |

                1. Smile-

Thanks for the response. Where do you see the words Ace and Address in TTOTC or poem? Please site source and number? Also can you provide further explanation on TC electronic Nova System and PolyTune pedal. I am confused on your point and how they relate to the treasure or golf solve?

                  Thanks!

                2. Mike, (If I may be so bold!)

Just posted a lengthy response regarding your “Sand-Wedge” revelation, a long with a number of Fenn related golfing facts. Where has it….gone??.

                  But wait! there’s more!

To make it short: Think “Bessie” – NOT the cow, but instead, the first woman pro golfer inducted into the State of Maine’s Hall of Fame; whom, btw… the daughter of yet another legendary professional golfer; Arthur Harris Fenn, designer of the first “Golf Resort” in the Nation.

Insofar as the game continuing to involve several “Fenn’s” of distinction? Impressive!

                  Your turn, pardner, ~smile~

                  SL

                  SL
                3. SL-

On HOD (Tips from Forrest), Forrest states that the treasure is hidden 66,000 links above Sante Fe. “Links” is a golf term.

Per wikipedia — A “links” is the oldest style of golf course, first developed in Britain. The word “links” comes via the Scots language from the Old English word hlinc : “rising ground, ridge”[1] and refers to an area of coastal sand dunes and sometimes to open parkland,

Back to you my friend. 🙂

        1. Hey Will… I’m ok but a little down after the shooting at the local Mall in Burlington… Too close to home… 🙁 As for pies…. I have a big batch of fresh raspberries from the garden I am going to make pies with today… That will make me happy again 🙂 Hope you are good?

      1. Thanks astree, that’s pretty helpful.
But I wonder if the meaning is the other way around. As in, “Now (then) I called the bronze chest “Indulgence” after my own indulgence” (paraphrased to the hilt to make my point).
In other words, the chest got it’s name from Forrest at that time, taken from his indulgences of collecting exotics.

      2. .
        Buckeye Bob and jdiggins,

It looks like the naming of the chest could have been done by either of several parties, but I believe it was Forrest’s creation. Some comments: 1) Tarzan and the chest – surrounded by trees, among others, 2) Tarzan and “tarry scant”, 3) Indulgence is an anagram for “ending clue” and also a homophone. jdiggins, your line of reasoning for the original list was great.

I like the word “exotics” that Forrest used, to complement the “indulgence”. As well, exotics is an anagram for “ex stoic” and “x cotise (the lines along the edge of the chest?)

        1. Lia – The best thing about The Chase is all the FUN I have had with everyone here. Including you. 🙂

What is a ‘limit’ anyway? I just re-watched this movie,…which contains my point:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgRvJNgySx8

The concept of the new movie Limitless, which hits theaters this Friday, is an intriguing one. Bradley Cooper’s character takes a drug that allows him to utilize his entire brain to its full potential. He becomes richer, smarter, hotter, and more powerful overnight. The trailer of the movie asks, “How many of us ever know what it is to become the perfect version of ourselves?”

And THAT is what The Chase can do for YOU….. 😉

          E*
          1. E* – I’ve had a terrific time conversing with you on the blogs as well. As afar as the chase making me richer, hotter, smarter. Hmmm, I went thru mental pause during boots on the ground. That made me hot enough to sweat bullets. My vacation jar is empty after so many searches. As for smarter, perhaps the chase opened long unsuspecting windows to my brain.

Mostly, it lifted me at a time when I most needed a reason to embrace living again.

Almost forgot the most important thing…How’s your bear?

  6. Thanks Jenny and Mr. Fenn,
Keeping us well grounded, once again, a positive message. The ego will seek that which is known, that which it sees as safe. To grow is to know the difference between inner self and ego. The beautiful thing about a small ego is it’s easy to understand leaving more room for inner self. I am confident that using I twice in a sentence is a negative reflection of my egos.

      1. Hello Diggin Gypsy, Strawshadow, et al.

        How ’bout Lego My Ego?

        http://extremecraft.typepad.com/extreme_craft/2007/04/lego_my_ego.html

That’s what I call pouring your heart out…but is it solid gold…or plastic?

        Eggo my Lego?

Mmmm…something about that looks tasty. Pass the syrup!

Thanks again, Forrest and Jenny. Always something to think about…and keep in check.

  7. The ego itself is a limit. It is the manifestation of the world soul in the physical, yet it is devoid of spirit and so has no true self awareness, only drives, desires, passions and repetition of patterns and structures. All needed to ‘build’ a physical expression of soul, a matrix, so to speak in order for the soul to be expressed. The limitless exists in potentialities of the soul which are represented by the experiences of the body and the development of the ego throughout one’s lifetime. The ego is the interface between the spirit of the infinite soul and the human personality. So yes, the ego is already a natural limitation perhaps only really removed at the time death or in states of divine ecstasy.

    1. I also agree, Lifesablaze.

You have (more eloquently) described the age-old battle between Spiritual Man and physical man…i.e. ego/pride.

There SHOULD BE a constant awareness and conscious effort…and ofttimes a battle…to reign in and control the appetites and passions of our physical selves.

If no effort is being made…then physical man is almost certainly ruling the day.

      I speak from experience.

    1. Nvm. Lone star. Maverick. Cuz It can be removed. So does it wink? What say you? Humble and transparent always, kneel, kneel and genuflect. 🙂 or flicked. And still humble humble. Awaiting a clear clarification, clear… like mud. Yes. Mud. Sorry. Its my mouth. Gets me a talking. Eyes looking. What?

      HeadedDown
  8. No one else wants to know if it winks? The blaze. If the blaze winks? Eliminating possibilities or share what you see as clear. Like it doesn’t matter. Sorry Jenny and DG. But I got to know. If the blaze winks. (Pleading from a “single” mind”s” with pressure) So few definitions. Elimating possibilities…and still it won’t be found for hundreds of years, so no worries. 🙂 post the link. Share. Winky or no winky. 🙂

  9. There’s more than one way to suppress the ego. Some ways are more fun than others lol. HeadedDown, I don’t think the blaze winks. But I do think there is one BIG blaze and a series of smaller blazes that lead you along the way. Like the area of your solve has three stages the final stage being the actual location.
