What are TreasureFix Treasure Hunts?

TreasureFix treasure hunts are produced puzzle challenges to solve for a treasure. The first person to correctly complete the challenge claims the prize. There are different hunts to participate in – these are each different. The first hunts were released on March 1, 2025.

What are the Clues to Find the Treasures?

Each hunt consists of different types of clues. In the MW’s Six Questions, Nails (creator of the hunts) had this to say:

“We advocate the broad acquisition of knowledge in all facets and circumstances. Be curious — one might say 🙂 A familiarity with ciphers, codes, etc will not always be necessary, but it certainly can’t hurt a searcher in our hunts to understand the basics (and perhaps know where/how to look if the basics lead you elsewhere). We anticipate (and hope) that in some of our hunts, whether you solve it yourself or are reviewing the solve after the fact, you will look at a method or technique or application and think, “hmmm, maybe haven’t seen it done exactly that way before” — but also, and more importantly, that a certain logic always prevails, even if it looks somewhat atypical or non-traditional, and even if it turns out to have been “too easy” or “too hard” relative to what we were shooting for!”

How to Start in the Treasure Hunting Hobby?

One of the best ways to get started in the treasure hunting hobby is to get involved in the community. Jump in. Ask questions.

MW offers numerous ways to do this. There is a very active Discord for discussions on clues, theories, and more. There is THE QUEST Newsletter to keep searchers up to date on current hunts. The newsletter also provides a look into past treasure hunts (one of the best ways to learn how to solve new hunts) and offers insights into clues on current hunts- as well as sharing thoughts on anything else that comes up in the treasure hunting hobby.
