Following is a list of the top ten armchair treasure hunts of all time. An armchair treasure hunt is a produced puzzle hunt, with clues leading to hidden treasure. If you can solve the clues, you can claim the treasure. This may be done by either -physically finding a hidden treasure or by some alternative method- such as sending an email that includes the answer to the treasure hunt.
Although the first armchair treasure hunt was in the form of a book, there are many different formats being produced and released today.

Armchair treasure hunting has been a hobby for many a puzzler over the last 40 years. It was in 1979 when the first ‘official’ armchair treasure hunt was published – and since then, numerous others have been released to challenge searchers.
