The Sunset Trail armchair treasure hunt created by John Michaels was released on 2/14/2020 via the Mysterious Writings website. Discussions can be found on both the MW Forum and the individual hunt’s Facebook page.
Many working on the hunt have released that if the MP3 of the original release is downloaded, and inspected, it includes a secret link to a website with further clues.
John Michaels most likely was referring to these hidden clues when commenting the following. He said,
“There is nothing hidden in any online photos of or related to Tom McBain, however the state his silver scratch is located in, can be found in the additional material. The way to find the exact location can only be found on the recorded material. Good Luck.”
So it would seem through the clues hidden on the secret link that the larger location (the state and possible park?) can be deduced. The exact spot seems to be discovered via the Audio itself.
There are eight links on the secret website. Each leads to ‘additional material’. The material is shared on the MW Forum.
A transcript of the audio was shared on the MW forum and includes the following cryptic poem. Does this, once understanding its intended meaning, provide the exact location- once the wider location is realized through the secret material?
“Walk the planks for a fortnight,
Our advice, do it twice,
And again where a dozen is more,
Walk it thrice, a hurricane is near,
Yet it’s not so dark,
A name behind, the Maker’s Mark.”
