Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a bit of information about those creating the Treasure Hunts for The First Annual Masquerade Tribute! As you may be aware the Masquerade Tribute will consist of NINE different treasure hunts, with NINE different treasures to claim, made by NINE different treasure hunt creators! These creators are all very talented, and will be offering some incredible Treasure Hunting fun!
As of now, and this could possibly change as these creators are still putting on final touches, the value of treasure to claim in the hunts seems to be coming in at around $3,000 to $4,000 dollars. Many of the prizes are difficult to put a ‘price tag’ on though, since many of them are unique and one of a kind treasures! Like in Masquerade, the Golden Hare was valued at a few thousand, but has recently sold for over $40,000 dollars (£31,900), so who knows what the value of these unique treasures for the Tribute will be in years to come!
All proceeds of the hunt will go to Charity. Learn more about the Charities and how to get involved here: The First Annual Masquerade Tribute.
The first in this segment, and featured contributor, is Forgotten History Hunts! If you haven’t tried solving one of Forgotten History Hunts on the MW Forum yet, you must! They are so much fun and free to enjoy. Ask anyone who is taking up the challenges to discover the needed ‘forgotten history’ to claim the prizes, how awesome they are!
There is even a new hunt being released, free to join, from Forgotten History Hunts, on February 27- so be sure to check it out! Might getting to know a bit about how FHH create hunts or think about clues help solve the puzzle in the upcoming Tribute? I don’t know!
One of the first armchair hunts, Forgotten History Hunts worked on themselves, happened to be Masquerade! So beside the fact they create beautiful, enriching, and fun puzzles, it’s a great pleasure to have Forgotten History Hunts on board, for the First Annual Masquerade Tribute, for this reason too.
In the Forgotten History Hunt section on the MW Forum is a link to all of their past treasure hunts. They are archived. And while the solutions to the treasure hunts are posted in the archive, their releases are in separate threads, so you can still challenge yourself to these puzzles. Of course, it is up to you whether you peek at the solutions or not!
Since the end of summer 2020, Forgotten History Hunts has offered hunts to learn more about the Roaring Twenties, An Overseas Matron, Table for Two, Bad Omens, A Past World, A Brilliant Mind, and more!
The prizes for the hunts are often connective to the subject matter of the hunts…(FHH is amazing in the giving of time and thoughts for their hunts)….. and so if you plan on checking out the past hunts to solve, don’t look too closely at some of the past prizes. These prizes are truly wonderful and unique treasures for each hunt! Here’s a glimpse- a collage of just a few of the prizes!:
The treasure for The Masquerade Tribute from Forgotten History Hunts is just as spectacular. Forgotten History Hunts has donated a Silver Hare Necklace for their prize. Below is an image of the Treasure and a ‘Teaser’ of the hunt to be released this Spring Equinox!
I’m so excited for all that is to come and appreciate those who are donating to participate in some really great causes. Three charities will be receiving the proceeds from the Masquerade Tribute….. And NINE winners (or teams) will be receiving some awesome treasures!
Plus, I can’t forget to mention, all the additional prizes being given away up to the hunt!
