The Cipher Needs a Source Document

The creator has said it is like a Beale Cipher – in the way that once the correct source material is discovered the numbers of the cipher can be applied to the source to reveal a message. Everything you need to identify the correct source material is within the image as well.

For those not familiar with the Beale Cipher. It is like a book code. The name comes from a pamphlet published by James Ward in 1885- it told a tale about an incredible treasure being buried somewhere in Bedford County, Virginia.  The Pamphlet (short title) was The Beale Papers.  This is an unsolved mystery/lost treasure yet today. (Top Ten Facts on Beale Papers)

One of the Beale Papers

Within this pamphlet were copies of 3 coded papers (one shown above). The coded papers consist of all numbers. One of which has been solved: ‘Beale Paper #2’. It was decoded by using a copy of the Declaration of Independence as a Key.  Each word was numbered in the Declaration. The numbers of Beale Paper #2 then corresponded to the numbered word- and if you took the first letter of the word, a message was revealed.

It is assumed ‘The Cipher’ will be solved much the same.  The numbers in The Cipher correspond to a ‘text’ which is then numbered. First letters (maybe last or other) of those words would then spell out a message.

If the text can be identified, The Cipher should be able to be easily solved, and the location of the ‘treasure’ revealed.

All clues to identify the text are said to be within the image.

Who will solve The Cipher and claim the treasure?!

Best of luck with all that you seek!  Always Treasure the Adventure!
