On the Trail for the Golden Owl ( Sur la trace de la chouette d’or ) is an unsolved armchair treasure hunt. Somewhere in France remains buried a ‘bronze owl’ which can be used to claim the half million dollar treasure of the Golden Owl.
The book was published in 1993 by ‘Max Valentin’, who has since passed. However, the hunt continues on with the Golden Owl waiting to go to the person who can discover the exact location of the buried proxy.
Within the book, On the Trail of the Golden Owl (in French) are 11 riddles and images…. these along with other ‘tricks and clues’ need applied to complete the puzzle and claim the Golden Owl.

Michel Becker was the illustrator for the hunt of the Golden Owl….. he has recently released another treasure hunt: The Golden Treasure of The Entente Cordiale.
