Read below or watch on Video: Does Forrest mention the type of Blaze needed to find his treasure chest?

When Forrest eliminated search areas for his hidden Treasure Chest, and confined it to four states, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Colorado, it helped us narrow down our own search areas. What if we could eliminate some types of Blazes?  Would that help us find the correct Blaze any easier?  Especially as we moved within 200 feet of the treasure?

Forrest’s Poem: line 13 reads:

If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,

I was recently going through some Q/A’s…..  a common thing to do……  and the following Q/A caused me to pause and wonder if Forrest would mention what the Blaze was.  I lean to thinking he wouldn’t.  I mean, would you mention what the actual type of Blaze was in order to find your treasure chest, if you hid one?

So in the following Q/A he mentions a few kind of Blazes.

The Question was posted on MW on 5/28/2014.  Most searchers know the first part of his answer.  It is often referred to.  But the second part is often ignored.   Maybe it shouldn’t be.

The full Q/A:

  • Q) Is the Blaze one single object? ~ Scout Around

A) In a word – Yes. I have received a few hundred emails from searchers who are sure they know what the blaze is. Ideas range from a mark on a tree, a rock, a sign, a fire, the side of a bluff, a waterfall, a spot on the head of a horse, a rainbow, and even a live owl that flew away when it was approached. f

As mentioned, after reading that I wondered if Forrest would refer to the type of Blaze needed to find his Treasure Chest.

If you think he wouldn’t, then can those items be ruled out?  And if so, what could the Blaze be then?  That list includes some common thoughts about Blazes.

Or do you think Forrest would cleverly say what the Blaze is in his list of items?

What do you think?

IF you hid a million dollar treasure would you mention the type of the Blaze used in the poem to find it?

Is the type of Blaze one of those mentioned by Forrest or not?

I know some searchers use waterfalls or fires or marks on a tree for their Blaze. But if these were the correct Blazes, would Forrest mention them? I find it difficult to think that he would.

It’s just something to think about.

Here are some other thoughts on The Blaze: Is it Confirmed it’s the Last Clue?

  1. I know searchers who are using a waterfall or fire as their Blazes…… if either of these were the correct type of ‘blaze’- would Forrest mention them? I can’t see him doing that…. so in those instances, I would just doublecheck those solutions before going BOTG…..

  2. From a psychologically perspective, usually when someone gives a list in this way, one of the items on the list will be correct. It’s interesting to note that in all the instances Forrest gave a list as to what a blaze might be, only 1 item remained constant.

  3. FF has declined to tell everyone if the blaze could be deciphered within the poem or did a person have to be at the location to visualize it. People need to think. People are thinking of items related to the blaze that truly will not last the test of time. More than likely it is not conditional. Once FF was asked if the blaze could be removed and he answered something like it would be unfeasible for one to do so. Nature has so many blazes and I am not going to foster any sort of self implied imagination here. Most natural blazes will live fore ever if they are protected. Forrest Fenn said that people are hung up on waterfalls and that searchers should not make their solve by changing his poem, or words to that effect.

I’ve “only been in the search for about a year, and only a casual researcher. But I have learned that being the soloist has the best chances at cracking the poem. Partners need to be devoid of the ramblings on all these sites. Since no one has come up with concrete evidence that even a single clue has been deciphered in public tells me that everyone is stumped, and people continue to look for that person who is going to leave that dream come true comment that will ring the bell and make it all come to fruition. I personally have discovered things in The Thrill of the Chase that I have not seen nor heard anyone discuss anywhere. I too am one that will not share a peek of my cards until I am done with TTotC.
