At the end of The Thrill of the Chase are two Omega Symbols, side by side.  For those looking for Forrest Fenn’s Treasure, they feel like a hint.  But are they?  What might they mean? One of the first questions you might ask is-  ‘Are the Omega Symbols in the other books written by Forrest Fenn?’

MW explores this question.

Forrest has written 12 books to date.  Click for a previous video / post where we provided brief summaries, and shared Forrest’s dedications in his books-

His books are as follows:

1980: The African Animals of William R. Leigh

1983 and 2007: The Beat of the Drum and the Whoop of the Dance and Teepee Smoke (Rework of The Beat of the Drum)

2001: The Genius of Nicolai Fechin

2004: The Secrets of San Lazaro Pueblo

2007: Early American Indian Dolls

2007: Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch

2010: The Thrill of the Chase

2013: Too Far To walk

2015: Leon Gaspard

2017:Once Upon a While

2018: Once Upon a While Revised

2019: Educating Ardi

The first appearance of the Omega Symbols shows up in Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch.  The Omega Symbols are not seen in Forrest’s books before this time. And where they appear in Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch is in a different location than where they appear in The Thrill of the Chase. The Double Omegas are not in the colophon, but on the page before it.

Here they are in Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch. A book in Tribute to Eric Sloane.

Anyone who has read Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch gets the feel for how close Forrest and Eric were.  While we see some of that in the Preface of The Thrill of the Chase, In Seventeen Dollars a Square Inch, however, you realize how deep that friendship went. They were very dear friends.

The next time we see the Double Omegas are in his next book- which is The Thrill of the Chase. Here, they are in the Colophon.

The Double Omegas appear also in Too Far To Walk:

They ARE NOT in Once Upon A While:

HOWEVER, ONE Omega Symbol appears in Once Upon A While Revised:

This is extremely curious.  By this time, Forrest surely knew the Omega Symbols were a hot topic for Searchers.  To Not have them in the first edition, and then only put One in the Revised edition of Once Upon A While, Forrest had to know searchers would be asking Questions about it.

In a Video by Fenn Treasure Hunters, before the Once Upon A While Revised book’s release, Forrest says this about the Revised edition:

“There’s something in the book that everyone is going to talk about….  I’m not going to say what it is”.

Was he referring to the Omega Symbol?  These Questions and more will be for another MW Questions!

Best of luck with all that you seek! Always Treasure the Adventure!
