forrest fenn gold medallion armchair treasure hunt solution How excited Dal and I are to have another winner in the Forrest Fenn Gold Medallion Treasure Hunts!  The congrats for FFGM #3 goes to Larry T of Tennessee!   Way to go!  He will be awarded with one of the exclusive Forrest Fenn Gold Medallions.  Seven more left in this first series of hunts!

In this particular hunt details for the hidden coded Treasure Stone were released through various social channels.  However, these hunts involve much more than just discovering the solution to the puzzle.  They also involve the resoluteness to go boots on the ground and retrieve the prize!

Larry did both! He solved the puzzle and took the initiative to seize the treasure.  Well, not himself physically.  😊   He persuaded his dad to go seize the treasure.  Which makes it even more of a prize well deserved, and memorable moment.

Chatting with Larry after he sent me images of the Coded Stone and Location, he went on to say that his dad had been visiting him over the weekend.  He was on his way home, traveling route 40, when Larry confirmed the location of the treasure.

Although his dad is well aware of his interest in finding Indulgence, it could be said he might not share the same enthusiasm or belief it can be found.  So when told to go retrieve a coded stone hidden under the rear left corner of a cement slab, a bit of persuasion had to be done.

And they are both glad he was convinced to stop and look for the FFGM Treasure Stone!

The coded stone was right where Larry told his dad he would find it!  This experience in turn might help Larry have a Boots on the Ground partner for looking for indulgence.

What better treasure to be found than a father and son teaming up together to bring home a Forrest Fenn Gold Medallion and maybe Indulgence in the Spring!   Congrats to them for FFGM #3 and best of luck to them on the Chase!

Here is the solution to FFGM #3:

The Puzzle was:

The image below WAS secretly positioned on particular pages of this site, MW ( MysteriousWritings.com) (IMAGES ARE NOW REMOVED SINCE HUNT IS OVER).  Clues to the location were then found beneath the images found.  Following those clues took a searcher right to the exact hiding place of the Coded Treasure Stone to use to claim the Forrest Fenn Gold Medallion!

The image not only ‘marked the spot’ on MW for where to find the clues, but also the spot in the image where the stone was found!

The Clues/Instructions were:

T: Travel 40 E

R: Rest Area

E: Exit Mile 419

A: Above Knoxville, below Bristol

S: Seek last parking space

U: Under Corner

R: Rear Left

E: Eating Pavilion

And that’s where the Coded Stone was found to claim FFGM #3!

Best of luck with all that you seek!  Always Treasure the Adventure!
