Dear Forrest,

during your excavations at San Lazaro, did you ever discover any discernable pictographic panels or individual markings? If so, are you willing to share?

~ Thanks, JJDiggins.

Thanks for the question JJ.  In my book The Secrets of San Lazaro Pueblo, I show pictures of a kiva mural I excavated. It has Anasazi painted figures that have to mean something. In my opinion that makes them words.

Professional archaeologists will most certainly disagree with my findings, so I will show you markings on a prehistoric antler tine that were made with a stone tool. It was also found in my excavations.

You decide if it is a written language. If you think it not, then please tell me what the lines mean. f

  1. I got this one guys, I’ve been doing my homework for 4 year straight. First off its wise, boustrophedon style(right to left, as ox ploughs) w is e. Next I assume some of you have looked at ancient letter systems since this is the TC hunt with the biggest payout in modern gaming. What I have may not be 100% but it’s close. I won’t say the latitude that it points out but give y’all some direction as it relates to poem. Do we know the def. of ternary? Set of 3. Most of the marks on your left, it’s “right” are #’s. One of the symbols if flipped upside down is baton. Ummm, ON BAT, Pat ou and yes she will. Though I feel I O her. Ok back to it, the X may be a v on top of an inverted v and with the right language and imagination you would get .2222222222222222 or a .2 with a line over it, and that line could be 10. And 10/.2=50=L. And funny that this is a L cause 21=In. Poem listen L is ten(silent t) L is in and poem says lisen well(oh weight). I have been posting this gold for years and get scoffed by the masses, it’s all good, I’ll just smile knowing. Anyhow back to the L, etc. The first symbol on your left is a nun(he mentions a habit), a serpent, it has a value. This is close to mu(she saw cows). Anyhow this has two messages, the first mentioning the property owner and the sun being straight up + u/ewe. A ewer is a water holder= water halter= water bearer cause halt=hold=bear=lift=right=just, etc on and on. Holds water + noon… Holds water high(noon)… Now another of those symbols is the latitude symbol and the 2nd message is a pretty exacting latitude. To within 10 metres. And is owned by a Pat. what else? Oh yeah the word poisson is found inn there and may relate to chemical property. Ion, Eye on, I on. I’d say eye over but I don’t want to get burned. Now those that have this gotta laugh at that. Anyhow tooth(TOTH behold) = sin= sun(see above) = Sims and this is needed. So hear me all… If I come across arrogant, grow some scales, I urned it after feeding this stuff to the sites for years and get scoffed, by most, yet some of you are great people and have enjoyed our conversations. Anyhow 5 days and counting. And Forrest, you are very efficient!!! With just a line or 2 line in poem you gave us so much better and the bat wasn’t sinister at all. Deeepthnkr drops the Mike.

  2. Oh RT and Jessica, a title(name) is needed and RT, you have been a scary contender! It was tough to not spread the words you eluded to in “blanket”, etc. Your theory on property is spot on also. The ladders on chest are called quick war ladders. They were symbolized by the $ sign with 3 strokes quick. I will tip my cap, you lenders of Eres.

  3. There are 8 Pueblos North of Santa Fe .. 5 lead to the Confluence of Rio Grande and Rio Chama .. 3 angle off and follow the Rio Grande – Ignore the Rio Grande – at least on this trip – if you follow Hwy 84 North, past Abiquiu, toward the City of Chama, and past, it will lead you to a Forestry Road North of the Colorado State Line that takes you to what can be a rough/muddy/slick 4WD trail that will take you to within a mile of the Rio Chama Headwaters, in or rather near, a sort of semi Box Canyon .. very private and solitudiness if you have the courage to hike to it and spend the day alone .. an interesting place to explore if you can get past the Black-Clad Wood Cutters at the Hwy Turnoff and the snow doesn’t block your way .. back on 84, south of Chama, is a turn off to the Blood-Stained Cliffs .. an interesting place to study for an hour or two .. but further south is a dirt road that takes you, eventually, to and along the bank of the Chama River to the Monastery in the Desert – it’s easy to miss, so keep an eye out for a little brown sign that will flash as you pass by .. it’s several miles of bland brown desert with nothing really to see that keep encouraging you to turn around and go back to the highway – but trust me, stick it out for longer then you think reasonable – you will make a turn and the Chama Valley opens up before you like a Jewel in the Desert – there are several beautiful spots to pull off on the side of the road and explore .. a little rest stop takes you down to the river with some rapids against a rocky cliff on the far side – when I was there the water was running too fast to cross .. some old ruined farm houses .. some small but quick water rapids .. some beautiful cliff-sides full of color and interesting pattern .. if you’re in the area, I would schedule a sun-up to sun-down excursion along this little dirt road, with plenty of water, suntan lotion, energy snacks and knee high snake protection .. the Pueblo Indians of long ago would have known this area well .. there was certainly a village in there somewhere at one time, living off the fish and the plants and the animals ..

  4. The request was…
“You decide if it is a written language. If you think it not, then please tell me what the lines mean. f”

But I think it do (lol), so I suppose an “answer” is unwarranted. 🙂

    1. I noticed that too, Jdiggins.

The lines are “clearly” communicating SOMETHING. So they’re a language of some kind.

The way Forrest worded that it’s impossible to answer…but we can all try…I reckon…

I hope Y’all had a great Star Wars day on May the 4th…or gave it a good try anyway. :/

If not…I hope you had a memorable Cinco de Mayo…as opposed to one you can’t remember. 🙂

  5. I’d like to take a stab at this.
The first thing is to understand that we don’t know which way to read this on the tine, so we have to look both ways if this is spelling out words.

Now, it seems to me that FF should have said “If you think it’s not”. With an ‘s on the end of the “it”.
So as it is, let me rephrase it to “If you think the thought ‘it not’ “.
That makes “it not” the clue.

Looking at the inscription, we have the same symbol at the start of the first and second word (reading left to right). Or at the end of those words if we read right to left.
We also have 3 letters and then 2 letters in those two words. Or visa versa if we read right to left.
That matches the phrase “it not” if we read the tyne from right to left, as:
    A) 3 letter word, and then a 2 letter word.
    B) both ending in the same letter (T).

So we have “x it not”.

I can add that the “x” and the “ll” in “not” on the tine, could be symbols like the “open” and “close” symbols in electronics (where we use a 0 and a line).
    In this case:
    C) The electronic 0 would be the “ll” in the word “not”. As in “not connected”, or “false”.
So here we have a word saying “false” as in “no”, plus a “t” to make it “not” as opposed to “no”. (The word “none” might be spelled with the “ll” plus another symbol such as a “c” shaped or any other shape.
    D) the electronic “l” that means the connection is complete, or turned on, would be the “x” on the tine. Meaning “true”, or “complete”, or something that is, that exists, or the subject of the conversation.

So we have the same meaning as “x it not” in the form of “this it not”.

Taking the general reference here, I’d say that it translates to something like “the solve is not” finished.
Maybe “the quest is not quested”, lol.
Or it could be related to the path. In that case it means “the path is not a path”, i.e. not open right now?
Snow? Ice? High water? Fallen rocks?
Maybe there’s a monster in the way?

    1. That is some above effort for extra credit, the path is not a path or there is no path, not in close proximity to a human trail? Just letting my horse run down the path you created, by the way, I don’t really own a horse.

  6. 2 things pop in my mind when I see these markings, one is that I have a polished rib bone that has 3 marking on it, one appears to be a hand, one an arrow pointing up (much like this one) and the last and x or more like a cross. I always figured these markings were a name or ownership markings. As someone who has napped flint over the years, the right tool would be something you would want to keep a hold onto. It could also be as simple as, when napping the flint, the antler was being used to dull the flint to form the next platform. While doing so he made shapes. I have found myself doing that when working on a point with a unique material and trying to get the next flake right.

  7. I do not mean to be crude, but the middle symbol reminds me of a women womb. This looks like some a father giving the right to his daughter to another man. Like a marriage ring. Perhaps, from an elder or in a ritual of right of fertility (also, it looks like a phallus).

  8. They look like directional indicators. A way of recording where the successful hunt took place. This might have been done so that they could find the spot again or so that the brave could tell hi story latter.

So if pictographs are considered language, this is language. These are cruder than know pictos, as with the Sioux Ojibway, and that probably makes the white shirts nuts!
