I’m sure you have heard of the devastating fires that are happening in the west.  The Mendocino Fire has now become the largest fire ever recorded in California, and it has taken the home and business of JDiggins! She is one of most cheery and fun searchers of The Thrill of the Chase.  She has uplifted hearts wherever she goes, and now it is our chance to give back and uplift hers!

Headed by Kpro at TheHintofRiches forum, The Thrill of the Chase Community, is coming together to spread the word that donations for JDiggins are being accepted via a drawing for some amazing prizes!

The prizes are:

  • The #001 Forrest Fenn Searcher Coin
  • Signed books by Forrest Fenn:  First Edition of The Thrill of the Chase, Too Far to Walk, and Once Upon A While

To donate (and have a chance to win the above prizes) all you need to do is click on the following link and enter the amount you would like to donate to Jdiggins:

DONATE NOW (PAYPAL LINK TO JDIGGINS)  (https://www.paypal.me/JJDiggins)

Each $25 Dollar donation is an entry into the drawing for the prize.  You can donate as much as you want.  For example, a $100 donation would give you 4 entries into the drawing, and a $500 donation would give you 20 entries!

Donations are being taken until August 31st, 5PM (Mountain Time) and a live drawing will be held to announce the winner.  More details to follow once Kpro works out those details.

What a wonderful cause and way to bring The Thrill of the Chase community together!

The following snapshot shows where the fire has spread.  The yellow X is where her house ‘was’.

Let’s set this cause on fire and break our own record!

      1. Thank you, Jenny. I’ll have to try and find a way to see if I can work around this situation. I’ve tried different blogs, and it seems to be doing the same for me. I’ll sign into my PayPal account and see if I can find a way of going through that channel. I greatly appreciate your help.

  1. I’m in. I only wish it could be more.

I have no need for more coins and books. That said, should my raffle ticket win, I will give the coin and all books to whomever has the largest donation.

In addition, Jamie and I have connected and the option stands as an open invitation at any time – I offer my home in Colorado as a safe place to land and rest until Jaime and her family can reestablish their roots. The home includes me and two adorable cats!

  3. Hi everyone.
Forrest said to read the blogs for entertainment. For over four years now I’ve been a part of this chase and have come to know you all as my chase family. I never blogged before, but found myself absorbed in the conversations and reading the thoughts of you, my fellow searchers. My husband has had a hard time adjusting to my involvement, as such, but he’s always understood how important it was to me. Now his understanding is even greater!

On July 27th, the Ranch fire started. We even drove by it coming home from getting supplies for the business. It was a good twenty miles from our home, and It didn’t look that big. Our wonderful firefighters
are usually able to knock out a fire pretty quick.
When we got home about a half hour later, we turned on the scanner. We could here the firefight first hand. It was up to 300 acres and one firefighter commented, “if we had some air support we could knock this thing out right now”.
Unfortunately, the folks in Redding, Yosemite and several other ares were dealing with much larger incidents and our California strike teams were already stretched thin.
On July 28th, my friend and business partner was evacuated from her home, also our business location. That night we lost both her home and the company, along with everything we had both been working hard and investing significantly to support our families.
On July 29th, we were evacuated, along with half the county, per se, due to the now dual fires rapidly advancing toward us. We loaded as much clothing and personal items in our truck and trailer as we could. We got our dog, but couldn’t get our two cats.
My husband started the rv and noticed it was leaking oil. Regardless, I drove the truck and trailer and he the rv, and we fled down the five mile dirt road toward safety. We eventually had to leave the rv as it broke down, finally emerging with our truck and trailer.
Luckily we have been hosted by my husband’s brother and his wife, but it’s hard to not feel like a burden after so long. I’ve since been glued to the reports of my local friends, Facebook news, etc. I watched this fire devour everything in its path.
On August 3rd, I saw a local video that showed where my home was, engulfed in a 300 foot high, quarter mile or more wall of flame. Just a small section in comparison to the scope of this monster.
All I can say at this point is that I am only one of many that lost virtually everything EXCEPT our lives. We made it to safety. My daughter made it to safety. Everyone made it to safety. Thanks due to the outstanding efforts of our law enforcement, first responders and the like. They are absolutely amazing!
And so are all of you. Forrest, Dal, Kpro, Jenny, Senn, Cowlazers (mike), janet…i can’t even remember how many folks are in on this recovery effort for me. I am beside myself with the outpouring of love and support. Thank you EVERYONE for your kind comments, thoughts, prayers and support. Thanks to all of you it makes the weight of uncertainty and fear feel a whole lot lighter. God bless!!!

  4. Jdiggins, thank you for the update and for being a beautiful ray of sunshine to all who know you here on the blogs. I’m thankful you are safe, and praying for an abundance of financial support to pour into your lives. I’ll contribute through PayPal now and again in the future.

              1. Hey speaking of post offices.
Check out the old one on the premises of Santa Fe Regional aeroport. His puzzle tells me Forrest Fenn might be an owner of that building. All those POSTAL codes in ttotc lead somewhere. Hey maybe he has his secret Arapaho ARH helicopter hidden there. 😄👍

Let’s hope people are opening their heart & their pocketbook for JDiggins.

                1. If you are looking inside the poem for ffs reference to Santa Fe regional airport postal building. Justify all left remove spaces and look for…
“Satan fe goat star aero fort.”
No joke folks it is in the poem spelled that way. Can anyone tell me what a goat star is? Is that a reference to the pentagram?

  5. So sorry to hear about jdiggins loss, very concerning, my prayers are with you.

My question is about using PayPal? I can order Jenny’s new book through PP using my bank account info but why is it that PP will not allow me to make a donation for jdiggins with my same bank account info?

    1. Hello Strawshadow. I had faced the same situation, yesterday. Perhaps Mike (Cowazar) can help provide a link. I’ve read where others switched to Chrome and was able to do so. Not sure if this will help you. I nearly called up PayPal to give them Jdiggins name to see if they could help transfer funds that way.

  6. This is the first time I have been on the forums/blogs to post. I read them most of the time but never felt the need to post. Well this has changed. What you are doing changed my perspective of people. I saw a tragedy happen to one member of your group and everyone banded together to help her. I first saw the notice on my Facebook account and went over to Jenny’s site and then to Dal’s site and saw links to competitors sites to help one person. WOW!!! You are doing an amazing thing and is refreshing to see these days.

    Iamnowhere
    1. Well thanks for finally posting something Iamnowhere! It is pretty cool thing to watch the outpouring of peoples hearts to help another. Well, don’t be shy, just jump in the blogs any old time. Its always refreshing to hear from new people.

  7. I too have read most of the different Fenn Treasure Blogs.
Mostly for entertainment. I ‘m new to the Chase and felt it would be better to come up with my solve useing the poem and the Fenn books. So I don’t pay much attention to the different options. Only Fenn’s options.
I am very impressed by the actions of the Fenn communities.
I would like to donate but do not have PayPal. Is there a way I could donate? I don’t have a lot of money so l would like to also donate some pure maple syrup that I make for my family and friends. It is boiled down to just about sugar. ( quality not quantity)
You could use it in your raffle. 2 quarts is worth around 30 to 35 bucks sometimes I donate them and we make a “ breakfast basket” that includes a waffle maker, waffle mix, mixing bowl, whisk, and syrup. Or it could go right to JDIGGINS . She could make breakfast for her now landlords as a thank you.
Let me know about a way to donate money and if you want the syrup donation.
