      1. What great memories, and very nice way you put it together (Coldplay is one of my favorites in the modern world). You certainly did a lot of traveling during that trip; was that your honeymoon? Great composition of the shots (all the way to the PI on the tree at 0:30). Glad you were able to get at least one with you in it; Your unattended plate at 1:40 brings back memories of “Hey, let me get a quick picture”.

Thanks for sharing, good luck on your next trip,
        astree

        1. Thanks Astree,

Yes, those were a mix of pictures of all our trips into Montana, Colorado and Wyoming. I still have many pictures to show everyone of our Colorado trip heading down into New Mexico that I am not ready to release yet. That will be the best of the best. I have taken may trips seeking the treasure chest. I suggest to all the chasers to take pictures and video of everything while searching. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I still all have countless hours of video that I am still reviewing. Some of my pictures and video were ruined when the camera fell into the dogs water dish. We may have to head back to Yellowstone to take more shots. We are saving our money so we can take all the grandkids in 2017. I think we will need to rent a bus at the rate they are popping out.

We are still planning more trips down into southern New Mexico to go searching for the past. I am now interested in looking for explores of the past coming up through New Mexico. So I am doing a lot of reading lately. I am reading a book called “Apache Gold and Yaqui Silver”. I am almost done with it. I talk to my wife of what I found interesting in the book and now she wants to read it. Now with Google Earth, I have been plotting the stories locations which is a great tool to use. One can see patterns of travels long forgotten. This year Google Earth released a very good resolution of many areas. Is that the treasure chest I see? Then we will pass it on to anyone who would like to read it as well. Just email me if you would like to get the book.

          Have a great day,

          Gene

    1. Yes Forrest, the pictures do present a well-organized and descriptive “table-of-contents”!! 🙂

Just when the flames of imagination seem to be flickering out, you throw on a juniper log and they blaze brightly!!

I hope you have a healthy and fun-filled New Year!!

    2. Yes, Mr, Fenn I wish searchers would stop heading out there, driving in this dangerous weather, and probably listening to their favorite tunes on the radio. The chest more than likely will be in there, waiting for the somebody to put the pieces together to this puzzle. I wish I could ask Leonard Simon Nimoy where you hid the chest, but since he already past away he can’t help us. Thank you Mr. Fenn for making this the ride of my life. RC.

    3. But Forrest, on Dec 11th you said: “If you know precisely where it is you can probably retrieve it in any weather”. The word “Still” means wwwh is frozen now…so I can ice skate across the inlet to my blaze to get the treasure, instead of wading across the stream! How cool…literally.

    4. Thanks Forrest,
I have gone over it all so many times and I don’t believe it is realistic to retrieve it until spring. It is possible but it’s very dangerous. I will email you when I have it and will be coming to meet with you immediately thereafter. Someplace where there are no cameras if you don’t mind. Thank you.

      1. Yes I will be giving you your bracelet back. I am hoping the IOU is there though. I will need it for many reasons. Including PCGS and a new place to live. Many people know where I live right now and my lady has no protection from them. I know you stated you don’t remember if you put it in there or not. I am hoping you did. Thanks Forrest.

  1. Nice to hear from you Forrest . The mountains have been getting hit pretty hard this year, more snow than I have seen in a long time; its deep. Guess I won’t be post-holing in the snow anytime soon. And yes, they have been amply described!

    1. I dub thee “Believing Thomas”. 🙂

I’m with you, Thomas. I never doubted Forrest, either…and those people who do doubt Forrest and his integrity I like to call “twits”. 🙂 Oh, sure…I have other descriptive terms in my construction-worker vocabulary…but I try to keep the discussion a bit more elevated…and real. I don’t always succeed…but I try.

Thanks again, Forrest and Jenny for keeping it real.

      1. JC, you always draw a smile to my visage 🙂 We can wonder how many ways this week’s works apply. For sure, as the years advance, the number of naysayers has increased. For myself, upon even a preliminary study of poem, it is evident that an extreme amount of effort (and creativity) was invested, so I concluded that it was for why as stated.

Best to you in the new year,
        astree

        1. I have enjoyed your creativity as well, Astree. Variety is the beauty and the spice of life!

I came to the exact same conclusion regarding Forrest’s poem. I see more than a spark in The Words. I see A Blaze.

@17 in the video link I shared above you’ll see Ellie’s father called her by the loving nickname, “Sparks”. I found this little bit of trivia regarding that nickname:

“Young Ellie’s father calls her ‘Sparks’. Sparks is a nickname given to early radio operators who used spark-gap transmitters.”

I concur with Believing Thomas, too. It has been an enjoyable and thrilling adventure. 🙂

  2. The definition of REAListic is someone who has a good grip on the REAlity of a situation and understands what can and cannot be done, something that is a practical, achievable idea, or something that resembles the actual truth about life.

Of course it’s REAL if you’re REAListic.

        1. Good luck to you, Luckydog. I tried my hand at some Powerball tonight with 20 sets of numbers. In one set I got 3 numbers correct which pays $7 on a $2 bet. Odds of that are 580 to 1…which is not bad. However, I’m still $33 down…which is not good. In fact, I’m still $40 down because I told my sister…who purchased the tickets for me…and who will cash in my “winnings”…to get herself something real nice with ALL of my winnings…all $7. lol.

I told my sister to keep the change…

…but for the record, she’s not a filthy animal.

          She ain’t heavy…she’s my sister. 🙂

  4. when you wish upon a star, hope my wish comes true.you can cry all you want ,but your desires are in your heart.and you can’t do nothing to make them come true.no powerball winner here either.just wasted my 10 bucks.if I leave home and go somewhere,I still have to come back home,to the heart of it all,family,love.comfort.lost in the middle of nowhere in the poem.if I’m in the middle of somewhere, its me thats in the middle.thats my solve.me,myself and i.
