Clues for finding the Theodosia Cache are found in a PDF Story and map about Theodosia (link above).

Theodosia was the daughter of Aaron Burr, and was married to Joseph Alston (South Carolina Governor during the war of 1812).  It is she who is the historical topic of the cache.  Born in 1783, Theodosia was loved dearly by her family.  Tragedy struck in 1812 though.  On December 31st, 1812, she had boarded the Patriot to sail to New York from Georgetown, South Carolina, to meet her father.   None of those who set sail on that dreadful date were ever heard from again.

Many rumors and legends surround Theodosia’s disappearance.  The one focused on in HCB’s PDF is the account where Theodosia’s ship met up with Pirates.  Within this story, Theodosia’s jewels and other valuable belongings were divided among the Pirates, after she, and all on aboard, were killed.

One pirate, ‘Old Frank’ Burdick is said to have confessed on his deathbed, years later, to being one of the Pirates involved in making her walk the plank and receiving a portion of the ship’s plunder.  It is he who is said to have been ‘haunted by her image’ in the following sentence found on the PDF.

However, haunted by her image he had buried his treasure of a thousand coins and many dozens of jewels along a prominent trail as he made his journey to the interior of North Carolina leaving behind only a cryptic map to its whereabouts.

The cryptic map is then shown on the PDF.  It can be assumed that maybe along with the story, the map plays a crucial part in finding the cache of Theodosia, and that the cache represents this pirate’s hidden plunder.

The PDF shares much more on Theodosia’s life, story, and of her disappearance.  It’s a fascinating read and true life mystery of today.

While working on finding the HCB cache, might you find a clue to Theodosia’s and the other missing passengers and crew of the Patriot?  You never know what the search into history will reveal!

Best of luck with all that you seek!  Always Treasure the Adventure!
