The First Annual Masquerade Tribute is released 3/20/21, the Spring Equinox. This date was key to finding the exact location of the buried Golden Hare Treasure in Masquerade.

FAQ’s on The Masquerade Tribute
1)What is the significance of $19.79?
1979 is the year the Masquerade treasure hunt by Kit Williams was published. Since all proceeds go to charity, we thought this would be the perfect price to set for The Masquerade Tribute of treasure hunts.
The Masquerade Tribute consists of Nine different Treasure Hunts. At the minimum donation, each treasure hunt is just over $2! What a deal, and all for great causes!
2)Why is The Masquerade Tribute being released on the Spring Equinox?
In the Masquerade treasure hunt, it was on the Equinox (Spring or Fall) that was the time of year Catherine’s Cross cast the shadow pinpointing the location of the buried Hare. It seemed then to be a great time for release of The Masquerade Tribute!
3)Do you have to know anything about the 1979 Masquerade Treasure Hunt to solve the Tribute Treasure Hunts?
No. All hunts can be solved from what is presented for each, and following their clues to a solution to claim its particular treasure.
4)Are The Masquerade Tribute Treasure Hunts BOTG or Fully Armchair?
There are a total of Nine different treasure hunts in the 2021 Masquerade Tribute.
Only 2 of these will require the physical retrieval of a proxy item. BOTG (Boots on the Ground)
The other 7 hunts can be claimed from home. They are fully armchair.
However, there is one hunt (Martin Smith’s ‘Family Ties’) which is either/or. While a solution to a location can be sent via email, there is a bonus item at that location, if a searcher would like to travel there instead. But BOTG is not required to claim the hunt’s main prize.
5)Who are the Creators of the Treasure Hunts?
The creators for The Masquerade Tribute are active members of the treasure hunting community. They all have offered previous treasure hunts and are very talented. They were highlighted in a special segment on MW (Clips shown above (click on links for more on each)). The creators are:

6)What are the values of each of The Masquerade Tribute Hunt’s Treasures?
It is difficult to give an exact amount. Many of the prizes are one of a kind treasures or keepsakes.
All winners of a Treasure Hunt will receive one of the Collectible Tribute Tokens in addition to the prizes being given by each creator for their hunt.
The values the Creators have approximated for their prizes are below. (It must be kept in mind that many may become collectibles and in time be worth more than originally stated)
- Robert Brewer’s ‘The Lost Hopping Cane’ prize: A Walking Stick with Handcrafted Hare Head valued at approx. $100.
- CopperDan’s ‘Finding Love’ prize: 3D printed treasure chest, 2.5 grams of gold, a MS70 2012 one ounce silver coin, your choice of a Copper Dan 8 x 17 piece of art, and some other small treasures. Approximant value is $400.
- Forgotten History Hunt’s ‘Masquerade Redux’ prize: Handcrafted Silver Hare Necklace valued at approx. $90.
- Bill Gardner’s ‘The Desk’ prize: $75 Amazon Gift Card and $75 Gifted to Choice of Charity. If opt out of Amazon Gift Card then $200 to Charity.
- Beth Hovanec’s ‘Pie in the Sky’ prize: Original Watercolor Painting (used in hunt) and ‘like new’ Masquerade book. Value approx. $300.
- Jenny Kile’s ‘Higher and Higher’ prize: Canvas Print of Illustration signed by Artist, Signed copy of Higher and Higher book, MW Diamond #1, and a set of Meteorites. Valued approx. $500.
- Natalie Nelson’s ‘Pieces to a Hole’ prize: 23 grams of Tourmaline valued at approx. $200.

7)Where is The Masquerade Tribute Hunt going to be released?
The Masquerade Tribute will be released as a PDF Downloadable Booklet, containing all Nine Treasure Hunts, on the MW Forum, in The Tribute’s Private Section.

8) Is there an end date for The Masquerade Tribute of hunts?
Yes. The end date for all Masquerade Tribute Treasure Hunts is 12/31/21. If needed, clues will be given out to help searchers to claim the treasures of the hunts.
9)Where is the money going to be donated?
ALL PROCEEDS go to the three charitable organizations listed below:
- -The Humane Society of the United States
- -St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
- -Organization for Autism Research
