Thank You Dave for initializing Masquerade Tribute
with Scrabblegrams!
We enjoyed, LOVED seeing if our exact plan……..
O! oops!
For those who got out their Scrabble Game Tiles and tried to craft a Scrabblegram, you know our exact plans for words didn’t always work out! They often took paths of their own. Sometimes to dead ends! We would have to start over or try something completely different.
Scrabblegrams are challenging, but extremely fun and satisfying, to create. They are an artform. They take practice.
Dave is obviously an expert on these! For those that visit his website (DavesScrabblegrams.com) and browse through his Scrabblegrams, you will notice while reading them how they flow, are natural to read, and are very clever.
Consider, Dave’s ‘Charlotte’s Web’ Scrabblegram. All 100 Scrabble Tiles are used to form a perfect, cohesive, and fluid description of this classic book/movie. It is excellently fashioned.
So with choosing the winners, we (myself, David, and Steve) considered (appreciated!) these underlying features. Those features that make a Scrabblegram ingeniously crafted, yet come across as seemingly effortless; flowing without any reason for pause. (we know however those Scrabblegrams are anything but ‘effortless’)!
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a FREE deck of Scrabbblegrams AND FREE access to the 2022 Tribute Hunts (details for the Tribute to come at a later date).
The Runner Up winner will receive a Free deck of Scrabblegrams.
These decks feature 54 brilliantly unique Scrabblegrams! They are amazing! An added dose of FUN with each and every Card – making playing games with these truly entertaining!
And as mentioned, David, the creator of the decks (and 52 Master Pieces), is one of the Contributors to the 2022 Masquerade Tribute.
My sincere thanks to him for inspiring the first contest! It was A LOT OF FUN!
So let’s congratulate the Grand Prize winner! (Drum roll please)
TC TREASURE!
Why we chose his entry? It flows smoothly, rhymes while maintaining a poetic meter, uses clever words that are all either appropriate or amusing to read, and uses a theme that we can all appreciate. It also uses specific, meaningful, blanks. TC Treasure accomplished all of this together. A task not easily completed. Congrats to Johannes!
And the RunnerUp: (another drum roll please)
Pugdaisy920!
Why we chose her entry? It too, is an all around fun, flowing, and entertaining message with added cuteness and theme. Again, a challenging task to accomplish all together. Congrats to Pugdaisy920. (please note: the image is edited to include the REAL KENZIE)
However, it has to be said all the submitted Scrabblegrams were awesome! We appreciated each and every one for their inventiveness. We THANK YOU for sharing and joining in on the adventures! We loved them all!
Therefore, we threw all the remaining entries into a Random Drawing to give away another free pack of Scrabblegrams.
The winner of this Random Drawing is: (one more drum roll please)
Thedawailey
CONGRATS! Enjoy!
And I end this winners announcement with a short story. Maybe a pleasant warning? It suggests we may all become addicted to crafting Scrabblegrams!
Yesterday my daughter got her wisdom teeth out. I had to laugh. NOT at that, but the following. David was messaging Steve and I. We were discussing how to choose the winner. How do you decide on only two from so many great entries? It was difficult! Anyway, I had to run a quick errand for supplies for my daughter. I messaged something to Dave like: “I have to run out for extra gauze. Will be back soon.”
When I got back, (besides wishing all well…which it is…my daughter is doing great), his Scrabblegram Mind informed me the words ‘Extra Gauze’ from my message would be great to use in a Scrabblegram. Too funny! I considered it. Hmmm…. The Z and X, plus multiple vowels…Wow! Yes! He’s right (No surprise. He is a pro on them). I had to try it. The following is what I came up with:
So yes, I’ve become addicted to making Scrabblegrams. You might too! You never know when/where/how/what can give the urge!
Huge thanks again to Dave for inspiring the first contest for the 2022 Masquerade Tribute! And possibly causing us all to now be developing Scrabblegram Minds!
Which may come in useful for further fun and games leading up to the Tribute’s release! Stay tuned!
