What is the meaning to the notched letters clue in There’s Treasure Inside? Are they possible clues to the lion’s share box? Let’s take a look at them.
In the chapter titles of part 1 notched letters can be seen. They are not in all chapter titles which makes them suspicious. Plus, in Chapter 26, Jon recommends the book Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. In the story of that book a hidden message is given by noticing notched letters. Might Jon have done something similar in his book?
Chapter One has none. Each character is fully formed. However, in the next 4 chapter titles, notched letters are seen.
Some are very noticeable – like the bottom right edge of the D in GOLD in Chapter 2. But others, like the M (seen above in Masterworks), with a small gash on the side is less noticeable.
If all chapter titles had notched letters it might be considered an artistic touch. But all chapter titles don’t have notched letters, so these seem intentional.
The notched letters are seen in chapter titles for the chapters 2,3,4, and 5. And then again in chapters 8 and 9. The other chapter titles do not have notched letters – at least not as noticeable as in these 6 chapter titles.
Unlike how notched letters in Ready Player One were used, these don’t seem to reveal a hidden message – at least not straight out. Maybe there is another step? Maybe there are more letters to find to go with these? Maybe they are used differently? Maybe they are a false lead?
