An exciting new armchair treasure hunt has been released by Andrew Layden! You may remember him from a previous hunt for an Opal Ring shared here on MW. In that hunt a poem (riddle) of 14 lines led to the Statue of Pan at Columbia University in New York City. The Opal Ring hung on a little branch in the bushes behind Pan.
The Global Treasure Hunt consists of something similar. However, there are a series of poems or ‘riddles’ to solve in this treasure hunt. The first riddle has been posted on Andrew’s Website, and it begins the search across the Globe for a new hidden treasure!
The first riddle will lead to a buried tin. Inside the hidden tin is the second riddle leading to another location, and so on. Only with the discovery of the final hidden tin, will the ‘Secret Treasure’ be revealed to the finder. What might it be?
All the tins measure about 4×6 inches and are buried in the ground. Andrew says they are placed in a location where searchers can discover the containers without getting in trouble. However, like in geocaching or in other hunts, please search as discreetly as possible to assure no one becomes concerned of your actions.
It seems the first riddle might lead to London.
Discussion on the riddle(s) can be found on the MW Forum.
If the riddle is solved and tin discovered by a searcher, Andrew asks the tin (and riddle within) be left in the ground for another searcher to find. He also says you can send him an image of the riddle, if you’d like, and he’d share it with other searchers. And whichever choice is chosen, after a bit of time, he may post the next riddle for searchers to move on to discovering the next location anyway!
So join the adventures!
And stay tuned….. might MW do another Six Questions with Andrew Layden about this awesome new hunt?!

This sounds like a very interesting hunt. Those tins look like a very nice addition to a trophy case. I’m sure he’d post the poem within if a finder doesn’t.
I think you’re right Jenny, it all fits with the London solve. I’ve pin-pointed the location, just need a ticket to London…
