forgotten history hunt armchair treasure hunts

The MW Forum provides an excellent place for discussions on multiple treasure hunts and hidden caches. Many found treasures over the years have been from hunts listed on the site. One of these listed, with amazing fun keepsake treasures, has been the free hunts offered by Forgotten History Hunts.  These hunts are a great way to get started and begin learning about ‘armchair treasure hunting’.  Join the adventures and practice your puzzling skills!

In the November hunt offered by Forgotten History Hunts, called Table for Two, a hint was provided for one of the hunt’s images:

The hint given for Image 1 was:

53, 47, 11, 41, 37, 23, 43, 11

It might be noticed they are all prime numbers.  And the use of 11, twice, might also suggest those numbers are being ‘substituted’ for something, most likely letters. This might get you to research prime number ciphers.

And that is what the cipher was: The Prime Number Cipher.

The basic Prime Number Cipher is a simple substitution cipher.  The first 26 Prime numbers correspond to the letters of the Alphabet.

TREASURE would be encoded as:

71, 61, 11, 2, 67, 73, 61, 11

The hint for Table For Two of the Forgotten History Hunt decoded as:

POEM LINE

This hint told searchers that image 1’s book title could be found in a LINE of the POEM referred to in the puzzle.
