The MW Diamond Scrolls are ten armchair treasure hunts created in celebration of the 10th anniversary date of the Mysterious Writings website. That date being 2/13/22. Ten different treasure hunts were released through the year leading to the anniversary date, with the last one (consisting of Six Diamond Scrolls) released in 2022.
One of the treasures to claim for each of the hunts is a large palm-sized collectible and numbered crystal diamond. There are additional treasures depending on each hunt. The hunts are fully armchair- meaning all can be claimed from home.
When are each of the MW Diamond Scroll Treasure Hunts released?
MW Diamond Scroll #1: SOLVED
The first MW Diamond Scroll was released as part the first annual Masquerade Tribute on March 20, 2021. It was solved at the end of July, 2021. Searchers claimed MW Diamond #1, Signed book and illustration, and a few Meteorites. (More below)
MW Diamond Scroll #2: SOLVED
The second Diamond Scroll was released freely on the MW Forum and Website in June 2021. The hunt is fully armchair. As of this writing it remains unsolved. The treasure is the numbered #2 MW Diamond and a few other surprises.

MW Diamond Scroll #3
The third Diamond Scroll was released December 15, 2021 on the MW Forum and Website. The clues for this hidden Diamond were freely given, like Diamond Scroll #2. The first person to solve the clues on the Scroll need only to email the answer. DO NOT go to any location. The treasure is the numbered #3 MW Diamond and a few other surprises.

MW Diamond Scroll #4
The fourth Diamond Scroll was released in The Ultimate Guide on Armchair Treasure Hunts: A Look at Over 40 Past Armchair Treasure Hunts. Whether just getting started in the hobby of armchair treasure hunting or had been involved since the release of Masquerade in 1979, the first of the genre, there is something inside this book for you.

MW Diamond Scrolls #5-#10
The remaining Six MW Diamond Scroll treasure hunts were scheduled to be released in the spring of 2022 on MW’s 10th Anniversary Date. However, that has been postponed until after The Masquerade Tribute of Hunts. Release date to be announced.
These last Six Diamond Scrolls are part of a traditional Armchair Treasure Hunt book- where clues are hidden within a Children’s story and images.
What inspired the MW Diamond Scroll Treasure Hunts?
The MW Diamond Scroll treasure hunts were inspired by my children’s book Higher and Higher. That book encourages young listeners (and readers) to seek higher and higher, gaze beyond the furthest stars, and to travel where dreams wait to be discovered. But the book also sparked the question, ‘What happens to those wishes made upon the stars?’
Surely, they’re not lost there, cast away without opportunity for ever being realized or truly embraced? I couldn’t believe they were! So I decided to search through the Mysterious Writings’ secret files and shelves for answers, and what I discovered, tucked away inside an old box, was a tiny piece of parchment. It’s writing revealed exactly what I would have imagined happens to those dreams and wishes made while gazing upon the stars.
How enchanting! Magical Diamonds hold dreams of yours and mine! And they are out there waiting to be found and claimed. They could be anywhere. With that small piece of parchment, however, were Ten Scrolls, which contained clues to an exact spot where ten of those Diamonds wait to be found. On each of the ten scrolls was a note that stated:
“Only to whom dream belongs will discover where this diamond rests…… Search for clues here and far, but most of all, enjoy the Quest.”
That is the background of the MW Diamond Scroll Treasure Hunts. It was planned those Scrolls would be released throughout the year to celebrate MW’s 10th Anniversary. Each of the prizes would be one of the ten collectible and numbered MW Crystal Diamonds (with a few other surprises).
Higher and Higher
