What are the Clues in the Second Stanza?
Justin said there are at least 10 clues within the poem. These could be the 10 sentences, which could mean the two sentences are the clues in the second stanza. However, we know the poem is like a map – leading to an exact geographic location.
The 10 clues might be ‘married to a place on a map’ – like in Forrest Fenn’s poem. The 10 clues could be locations Justin refers to in the poem.
In the second stanza the clues in the poem – linking to locations on a map – might be:
- Hope surges (clear and bright helps identify/discover the location of where Hope surges)
- Water’s silent flight – location on map (walk near it)
- Round the bend – location
- past the Hole – location
Let’s break down each line – considering ideas and thoughts-
As hope surges, clear and bright,
- Geyser
- Crystal Lake (clear and bright – hope surges for catching fish – mentioned in book)
- Fishing reference to other location
- Hope not linked to a location itself – but telling you when to go BOTG – as HOPE surges – your emotions – as you discover more and more of the solution – hopeful to find the treasure – knowing the location – then you walk – go BOTG
Walk near waters’ silent flight.
Walk – are we walking – BOTG at this point? or is it a ‘walk’ (boardwalk, walkway, etc) that we are passing while driving still?
Waters’ is plural and possessive – more than one body of water? or not?
Water’s Silent flight
- Waterfall
- Hot spring (evaporates)
- Glacier receding
- Canyon
- Two or more rivers – coming together to form another (silent flight – because changes name)
- Very calm area of a river or stream
Round the bend, past the Hole,
Round the bend
- simplest meaning – past a curve somewhere
- is ‘Round’ the name of a bend? (or area of a curve, etc)
- Bend Oregon (should be capped though)
past the Hole
- Big Hole River
- Hole in the Wall
- Nine Mile Hole
- Other ‘Hole’ in name for a geographic location
- past Montana – MT (sound clue) – empty (a hole is empty
I wait for you to cast your pole.
- Fishing spot
- referring to North Pole
- referring to casting a shadow with a pole
- Hinting towards need for an Azimuth
Who is I?
- Justin – is this a hint to the checkpoint – that both Justin and Yourself will know you are on the right track with 0% doubt
- Treasure
- Location
- Heron Lake is I (story of lost pole in book)
Second Stanza Theories and Interpretations
1) Continuing from first stanza – exploring and considering Wisdom, Montana and surrounding areas further:
- As hope surges, clear and bright – could refer to the hope of catching fish – in the clear and bright waters
- Walk near waters’ silent flight – suggesting you walk ‘near where the Beaverhead and Big Hole take ‘silent flight’ – where they flow into the Jefferson River.
- Round the bend, past the Hole – refers to a curve and going past the Big Hole riverJ
- I wait for you to cast your pole. – another fishing reference – supporting these thoughts.
2) Will be adding more in coming weeks….
