Justin Posey's Audiobook bonus chapter and checkpoint clue

Justin Posey’s Audiobook Released!

Justin Posey’s Audiobook for Beyond the Map’s Edge has been released. This includes a bonus chapter – LOS CAMARONES CALIENTES – as well as some additional musical pieces by Hyram Posey – Justin’s Uncle.

Back near the end of April Justin Posey told us the audiobook was in progress for his book – and that it’s release would allow him to address “one the most mysterious places of the map – something many of you have been asking about.”

On May 21the Audiobook was released.  Justin announced it on his website.

The mysterious place of the map Justin seemed to have been referring to is Lukeville. Many on the MW Discord had asked about why this location, written off the map, was included.

In the bonus chapter – entitled: Los Camarones Calientes (hot shrimp) – Lukeville is mentioned.

Lukeville on Justin Posey Treasure Map

Summary of Chapter in Justin Posey’s Audiobook

The chapter features a border crossing fiasco – of shrimp in a car trunk getting spoiled – after a many hour delay at the border. The smells – still to this day – haunt Justin – and he definitely does not liking shrimp. This was one of his first memories. Age 5.

This fiasco happened in Lukeville – the border crossing there.

Possible Checkpoint Clue in Audiobook

An interesting note for the bonus chapter is the word checkpoint is used.  Is its use a clue?!  I think it’s possible.

At the end of March, when asked, “Is there any sort of clue verification built into your poem.”  Justin answered:

“There is a checkpoint that will give you zero doubt that you are trending in the right direction.”

Also in the MW’s Six Q’s Justin stated:

“My treasure hunt has a built-in checkpoint that will give you that reassuring feeling of “Yes, I’m not completely lost and wasting more precious vacation days on a wild goose chase.”

These comments about the checkpoint were given before the creation of the audiobook.  Justin would know the numerous questions that are being asked about ‘what does he mean by a checkpoint?’

He could have slipped in a clue in the audiobook to what he meant by the checkpoint – or clues about it.

In the audiobook’s bonus story – the crossing incident involved Justin’s caretaker and family – who lived in Mexico – where his family got the shrimp and was taking it home to Arizona. Although all legal – Justin’s babysitter’s mother – had certain rules for the crossing.

In the audiobook the following Border Crossing Commandment – Lukeville Edition was given:

Rule #1 – Carved in stone – never shall wheel touch checkpoint soil.  Foot traffic only.

Lots of searchers have wondered if the checkpoint could be found without going BOTG. And while Justin’s comment in the MW Six Questions saying the built in checkpoint could give the assuring feeling so not to waste  ‘more precious vacation days’ – suggesting BOTG is needed – since you would use a vacation day to go BOTG –

This rule ‘for the checkpoint’ in the audiobook might be confirming that thought – you must go BOTG. Foot traffic only.

And maybe this ‘checkpoint’  is  ‘carved in stone’ – like the rule.

Is the checkpoint –  ‘double arcs on granite bold’?
