Mr. Fenn, You have been down the road a few miles farther than me, and I would like to know what you think of yourself. Do you think you are in an enviable position right now? Thanks, No Where But
Well, Mr. But, with a name like yours your road may be muddy in spots.
The word enviable has wide parameters.
You might say Georgia O’Keefe was in an enviable position in one respect.
When she bought something for about $100 or less she usually paid by check rather than a credit card. Many merchants would keep the check as an investment rather than cash it, because her signature was worth more than the amount on the check. That meant she lived a big part of her life getting things for free. That was especially true when she bought art supplies.
If I wrote a check for a 10 cent yoyo, they’d cash it. f
Best of luck with all the you seek! Always Treasure the Adventure!
Mr. Fenn! I really doubt this would be true! Thank you, Jenny, No Where But, and Mr. Fenn, for the “Featured Question.” I’m still giggling.
Mr. Fenn; I certainly would pay more than ten cents for your autograph. Maybe at Fennboree this year you will sign my copies of TTOTC and TFTW – I will pay whatever you ask. 🙂 JDA
Watch what you ask for, JDA. 🙂
Thank you Forrest and Jenny.
Thanks Jenny & Forrest for the visual that’s stuck in my head now.
It’s O’Keeffe.
Not to crazy for her style of art but obviously many were & are.
This chase just keeps getting more and more interesting. I remember rumors of a diamond and now an O’Keefe?
I patiently wait for the snow to flee … when will that be?
Alas I must wait before I can see.
Where my new map will lead me to be.
Blessings to all and treasure the adventure.
If I found the treasure chest, I would so appreciate a doll 🙂

Just remembered that I forgot to answer the question. Sorry bout that. f
You forgot again, it seems.
On the plus side, this wiener dog seems to be loaded with Catsup.
Forrest, after this thing has been solved… I’d love to see you write a book on your “scientific method”.
I may need a lobotomy.
Take care,
-passenger
Note to self: Buy more sticky notes. 🙂
You like the catsup, I take it?
I’m sorry, Buckeye Bob. I don’t understand. Would you be so kind to explain to me, please?
Well, if you need sticky notes then you’re getting something from this post, right?
And “catsup” season is the time for seekers to catch up since any leaders can’t get out there.
Or am I wrong?
Sorry if I misunderstood anything here.
I guess I’m still confused, Buckeye Bob. Sorry.
No worries, the fault is mine for assuming. 😉
Bob, “If you know precisely where it is you can probably retrieve it in any weather”
Otherwise, yes, picture yourself Jack Nicholson in “The Shining” maze.
It sounds to me like you’re anticipating high altitudes?
-passenger
Passenger, there’s getting there, and then there’s finding the precise hidey hole, and then there’s being in the right place in the first place.
No one knows yet for sure.
Even if I am pretty darn sure.
🙂 I like that u forgot to answer the ?, f.
TY.
Well, here’s your chance to answer, now that you’ve remembered that you forgot … lol
Yes you did.
Jenny, I’m curiois, was it you or Forrest that chose the yo-to picture?
My eyes switch back and forth from a yo-yo to a picture of the sun and moon to Billy Crystal’s Mike of Monsters, Inc.
Too funny
This one made me laugh….. and yet offers quite a different perspective not often thought about!
Jenny I laughed too. Because I feel just like a yoyo in motion on this chase. I’ve got it, no I haven’t, yes I have, no I haven’t ……yoyo up, yoyo down ,,,,,,,,,anybody else feel this way?
*silently nodding, shaking, nodding, shaking, nodding, puking…
…it’s okay…I’m alright…don’t mind my…
…nodding…
Yep, that’s it! But it sure is fun too!
Is f trying to tell someone they have some yo-yo ideas? Why do I feel like I just got called into Viper’s office for doing a flyby on the tower? Ok no more flybys.
Get your “but” up to Viper’s office?
Sir.
mr. forrest ,your so funny, you crack me up.
Virginia diane, you wear your Heart and Soul on your sleeve, and I appreciate that.
Hello, All. I mean…Yo Yo Yo!

Another Question and Answer. Now…what to make of it.
Thank You, Forrest and Jenny…and No Where But?
Speaking of Auto-graphs and Yo-yos…

So my mind immediately went to the chest and its contents… with ff’s name attached to it, and the whole chase now a worldwide search… the chest and the gold are worth much more than it’s monetary value now. The finder could possibly keep the gold and get everything else for free in life because of their newfound status as the solver of the chase. Hmm… is he saying to hold onto the gold and not to get rid of it for $$? I thinks so… but will see very soon. 🙂
Good observation Jake. You may be correct. I need more time to process this. Maybe I’ll go hit some golf balls.
Wait a minute. Is there a Georgia O’Keefe in the treasure chest?????
Nooooo … can’t be. Nooooo. No way.
If you find it, you’ll know for sure.
But => Butt => Rear
Brown => Bear
Bear + Rear => Bearer => Georgia
From => Form => Kind => O’Keefe
I can’t believe it. Get your thesaurus out.
That’s like dropping a nuke. Does anyone understand what this might mean? Anybody? Hello?
Dropping a nuke, like Los Alamos? I sure miss E.C. Waters.
Enola Gay?
Hello Iceman. I just don’t see the connection of the words you’ve come up with.
You have a thesaurus don’t you?
Hello, Iceman and Pdenver and White Sands…I mean, Sandy.
I thought all the thesauruses (thesaurusi?) were extinct.

Do you think Georgia O’Keefe liked listening to this song?
I would think that she’d like it…if I was me.

Iceman, if there were an O’Keefe in the chest, you wouldn’t be shopping at Walmart anymore.
http://observer.com/2014/11/sothebys-44-4m-georgia-okeeffe-shatters-auction-record-for-work-by-a-female-artist/
Well maybe for bear spray. But yea I just saw that. I wondered why the f books had all those prices in there. Can you believe that …. ! Noooo.
Maybe there’s an Andy Warhol in the chest as well. Who knows.
I think the treasure chest itself is motivation enough for me. Anything else would be an unexpected blessing.
Wait a minute. I left my copy of “The Thrill of the Chase” in a motel out West a few years ago, but I’m pretty sure I remember that Mr. Fenn used to make his own yoyos and marbles and sell them to the non-yoyo-making & non-marble-making kids. Thanks for the Featured Question Jenny and Mr. Fenn.
Ahh, here’s somebody playing “catsup”.
🙂
I think we’re all playing catsup Bob. I’m guessing that you’re debating between your running shoes and your snow butes?
-passenger
It was a quarter a yo-yo, dime for a marble.
Thundercats… Ho!
Transform to sponge….absorb meaning…report back…
Maybe someone needs to go a few miles further down the road…thru a mud puddle or two.
Yep, that’s what I got as well.
Friend
This one’s pretty good 🙂
You know what? Things are moving too fast. I need to get out of this cockpit for a while. I don’t even know what side is up. Has anyone seen an aircraft carrier around here?
Don’t be like the Goose, Iceman.
Actually today I feel like Rainman at the roulette wheel. Click … click … click … !?$&’bvg$:/?
Yikes! That’s quite the roulette you’re triggering.
Iceman, I watched “Top Gun,” and I remember the hard time the Goose had when trying to land. From your comment above, it reminded me of this. It was to give moral support to be strong and land it, nothing else.
Just wondering if a pick axe and half a shovel would help me, Mr. Fenn??
Lucky yo-yo. http://www.yo-yos.net/top100.htm
Thank you for the link, lifesablaze. I never knew there were so many.

“You don’t write melodies, you find them…If you find the beginning of a good song, and if your fingers do not stray, the melody should come out of hiding in a short time.” – Hoagy Carhmichael
I’ve never heard this version before. Thank you for the link, lifesablaze.
Thanks, Lifesablaze.
I didn’t know that Hoagy wrote that song. That’s a great song…and a great name!
I swear my name should be Hoagy…sometimes…like when I’m being a ham…or a real cheese…and that’s not to mention my buns…which I won’t…uhhh…mention…
…except to say that they didn’t always look like sesame seed buns. A little word of advice…DO NOT sit on the cactuses. (cacti?) Even though it may seem like a good idea at the time. :/
Trust me. Sesame seed buns only look good on Big Mac.
Oh so funny! I have never sat on a cactus, but I have sat on a cow patty! lol
I guess I’m on a quote roll… “God told me if I painted it enough, I could have it” – Georgia O’Keeffe.
And She did.
I’m going to try that. Do you think it might work for a Bayliner? Hawker Beechcraft? Yea that’s too aggressive. How about a new set of TaylorMades?
Can you refer me to a tutorial on the difference between checks, credit cards and cash? Everything I touch disappears instantly without a trace.
Do you have kids 23Kachinas?
Trace them and the disappearing act will be solved:-)
anna – my sister has kids.
I sense that several senses of “endorsement” may apply to the bottom line of this hidden gem, amongst others. Just a hunch…but you can quote me on that. Lol.
…not that F might be on the edge of his seat waiting on endorsement of any kind or anything. Id sure take a yo-yo if he was though.
The greatest things in life are free, the price of envy is a cost most dear.
Mr. Fenn, you know as well as I, that when the TC is found everything Fenn will be jacked up in value, because some people will realize you presented the ultimate course in psychology and So much more. Do Jenny and Dal realize what they have within there blogs. Value? watch n see.
Thanks f
My prayers go out to you and your family, God bless…
Georgia O Keefe was quite a lady!
Have brushes. Will travel.

What do you think of yourself??? My name is Mud but, God willing, I volunteer to take the look out watch. The views hear are contained by a wide parameter. But, I’m focused on something off the side. It will take me 1299 792 458 seconds to get there. X’s 10.
Checks are great. I found a 1920 check from leadville, co signed by charles h pallen for $92.73. Wonder what that would be in today’s money. The check has a painted bird and little sun on it, signed by the artist but I can’t read the name.
Hoping that some ‘s dark ‘envy’ won’t have any residual effects in relationship to the outcome.
I interpret that f did answer the question … he doesn’t deem his position in life enviable if no one sees his autograph worth keeping for even the loss of 10 cents.
Lyzeebella
Maybe it’s time to share
(Kedar’s Mom) hey mom can we go get the treasure now please🤔😊
Come on sun, shine. g
Of all the things Forrest , Jenny and Dal have given us, like unlocking confidence, imagination and knowledge. The greatest may be. Where we, each and every one of us, has a place to belong. A feeling some may not get in every day life. I wish we could all be there when it goes down, but as we all know. There can be only one, highlanders. g
Actually (I’ll say it again).. the smartest thing folks could do is team up. Yes, there may be NDA’s and other details involved… but ultimately more brainpower and better chances of success. There’s plenty of reward to go around. Let’s face it, although most know this intuitively, there is fear-factor that keeps most from engaging in this pursuit. But that fear may cost you.
Just my opinion Ace, but what do I know? 🙂

Don’t want to get too sentimental, but here is one from, who I like to refer to as, the littlest firecracker.

Every time FF mentions anything related to a dime — or ten cents –, I see this as a teeny little hint.
Not much, and it probably wouldn’t help anyone who didn’t already have most of a correct solve. But
I’m glad FF is (apparently) enjoying this hunt.
Well Know Were But,
Since Forrest claimed to not answer your question, I WILL.
I am in a very enviable position.
The days have turned into weeks, weeks have turned into months, and months into a year. Almost time to start up were I left off.
Oh crap, I lever left off.
Correction … “Knows Where” it’s at … but still has to prove it. One lucky yoyo.
Is it just me or does that yoyo look like a Segway? BTW, I don’t think the $45M Georgie O’Keefe is in the treasure chest. I’m looking at it right now… at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I got an idea … I think I’m going to go paint me a BMW.
Let’s just keep in mind that Forrest did not write a check for 10 cents.
He wrote out a check for a ten cent yoyo.
He then says they would cash it.
Well no s!?: Sherlock his check was wrote out for an unbelievable amount,
That anyone would cash.
I like the KISS RULE, and it always seems to work for me.
I was thinking today about how $2 betting tickets on the Triple Crown races are worth more as a set than the payoff on any single ticket. Savvy betters know not to cash their ticket in if they win at the Derby, because the horse may go on to win the other races too. I can only imagine what a set of framed $2 tickets are worth for American Pharaoh, who won the first Grand Slam ever, all four races! I think a payout on a $2 Derby ticket is usually, maybe, $20. But a set of bets, framed, on American Pharaoh all the way is worth way more than the $80 face value.
Anyways, that’s what I was thinking about today.
Forrest Fenn Your Funny!! Who are They??
