Overview of the Jon Collins-Black Cowlazars interview:
On November 13, Jon Collins-Black connected with the Cowlazars Channel via Zoom. They had the chance to ask him a few questions. Below are my key points from the interview.
- A finder can remain anonymous, but Jon’s plan is that once a box is confirmed found he will reveal not only the location of the hidden box, but also the solution
- When asked if the boxes were placed in locations with free to access he answered the following way:
“Theoretically they could be some place where you have to pay to get in to… not something I had thought about … could be but not necessarily”
From his answer it seems like at least one is at a location where you have to pay for access. Maybe more. Having to pay for access to a search area is not ruled out.
This answer goes in line with a question he chose not to answer in the Six Questions. (more on that here)
- They are outside. None in any man-made structures.
- There could be red herrings in his book. When asked if there were red herrings, he chose not to answer – so maybe. JCB said he plans to continue updating his Errata List on his website with unintentional typos and such as he gets time.
- The question about how he will know if a treasure box is found got a bit sidetracked. Jon seemed to comment about a recent event to the interview about where a searcher sent him images of possible wrappings of a box – which the searcher found at a location he felt was a strong solution.
Jon mentioned he felt a box wasn’t found because of what was sent to him and that he was confident because so little time had passed. He said he would be surprised if one was found already.
He also said,
“If somethings been found and no one has told me, I wouldn’t know.”
Which leads to the Incentive – mentioned in Six Questions. What are they?
Cowlazars asked if the incentives are in order get the larger items that possibly didn’t fit in the boxes – like the Thoraeu Journal pages or other treasure items – a searcher would need to contact him.
Jon said he couldn’t answer.
