It’s time to celebrate MW’s 10th Anniversary Year (2022) again! Each month, of MW’s 2022 anniversary year, I’ve been looking back through the multitude of posts on MW and I’ve been sharing one of my favorites from the past 10 years (and why). MW then hosts a free drawing based on that article to celebrate the past ten years with you!
This month’s flashback is an article I wrote for Andrew Gough, who is often seen on the History Channel commenting on the many mysteries of the world. I had met Andrew when he was one of the leading researchers for the Rennes le Chateau mystery – back in 2005.
The article, The Philosopher’s Game, which included thoughts towards the RLC mystery, was posted on his website and magazine. I later shared it here on MW.
The article remains a favorite of mine for many of reasons. The main one is that it is about the history of a board game and it’s application to shape a man’s entire being. And as many of you may know I collect and study board games, so the article involves combines two of my passions – games and mystery.
My research into the Philosopher’s Game (Rithmomachia) touched on some important aspects relating to ideas of the invisible college or underground stream. Concepts that may have been part of the secrets surrounding Rennes le Chateau – and lots more. In ancient times, games were powerful teaching tools, so a lot can be gained from their study.
