Six Questions with Charlie M:

1) When did you first hear and learn about the Treasure Hunt?

I was watching a news story about a Pastor that lost his life looking for the treasure and the loss of others prior. I wanted to know, why is that treasure so dangerous to find?

2) What inspired you to become involved and begin searching?

After reading other articles about the treasure and about Forrest and his poem, I simply fell into the search, being retired with some time on my hands. Besides, I like to exercise my mind and it was about time I had some adventure and fun.

3) What is your most favorite part about the Treasure Hunt so far?

Learning about Forrest Fenn has been very intriguing. I enjoy seeing other people’s approaches and ideas with trying to solve the poem along with their adventures. Most of all it’s being out among the mountains again, it’s so beautiful, fresh and peaceful and I truly missed all.

4) What is your least favorite part about the Treasure Hunt so far?

Waiting for spring to come!

5) What is the best or most unique thing you found while searching for Forrest Fenn’s treasure chest?

Tell you the truth, nothing material. The best that I found was quiet, only the sound of grasses moving in a slight breeze, the view, aahh back to nature.

6) What more would you like to say?

I would to thank Forrest for his generosity and his ability to share his life, thoughts and memories and his motivation to get people out and explore places that they might not have ever been. The best overall the thing that Forrest has done was to spark imagination in a big way. Imagination is bigger than I once thought; it creates art, buildings, invention, knowledge, exploration, business and the drive to succeed.

He has taught us to use imagination to ask questions, find answers, snapshots of what things look like before they are seen and during conversations. It’s imagination that moves us to go places. Imagination is a daily thing whether or not it is recognized. I could also bet that imagination is the driving force behind Forrest and he sees the finished product of imagination. Anyway, that is what I received from Forrest.

Forrest: How am I doing? Did I get it right or is it my imagination?

Many thanks to Dal for his sponsored website enabling people to share with others that are good folks. Also many thanks to Jenny Kile for her sponsorship of the website and the sharing of her adventures.

Thanks Charlie!  We all know Imagination is more important than knowlege!  I love the way you describe it though. It truly is the beginning of everything!  If you can dream, you can do it!  Excellent answers.

Best of luck to all that you seek and Treasure the Adventure!

  1. Very cool, CharlieM.

I’m happy to see you’re not that OTHER Charles M. …because that guy can’t be on a fun treasure hunt right now. 🙂

Imagination…a word that is key…and more important than knowlege. I hear that Nikola Tesla had a powerful imagination. They say he could build a machine…with its myriad working parts…with his imagination…and start it working in his mind…and let keep running in his subconscious for a few days or weeks or more…and come back to it to see if it was still running smoothly…and if it wasn’t he could see which part(s) were failing and re-engineer it…all in his mind…until it worked.

    If that’s true…then Tesla had a very powerful imagination…that I wish I had. LOL.

Sadly…the human body (at present) isn’t one of those machines that keeps running smoothly.

“I know I am completely worn out, and yet I cannot stop my work. These experiments of mine are so important, so beautiful, so fascinating, that I can hardly tear myself away from them to eat, and when I try to sleep I think about them constantly. I expect I shall go on until I break down altogether.” – Nikola Tesla

Many times…when I hear others mention Imagination…I hear this song in my head…and wonder if FF is really WW… 🙂
