Here is the solution that was sent to MW for the Treasure Hunt of the Sacred Scarab:

The key is 7. The treasure is wisdom.  The key 7 gives the letters to win within the Scarab’s body filled with both numbers and letters.  The numbers 3-3-9-1-7-2 of win are used in the square on bottom of scroll to discover the treasure wisdom.

Below is further explanations of how this solution was found:mw treasure hunt the sacred scarab

*The symbols within the wings provide instructions on how to move the numbers within the body of the Scarab to form Magic Squares.

*Letters are placed, A-Z, according to the Senet Game(where the Scroll was found), and told to do so with UTA at the top (With the CROSS/T between corners of GOLD/AU)

*The actual letters of K-E-Y  within the body of the Scarab filled with both letters/numbers, can be seen to create the shape of the number 7.

*7 is then KEY and it is noticed the number 7 within the body of the Scarab correspond with the letters WIN.

*Use the KEY to WIN.  Take the numbers for WIN: 3-3, 9-1, and 7-2 , of a modified Polybius Square code, and discover the Treasure of WISDOM in the square below. (by following the same path as the letters were placed in the Scarab)

That’s it!  No complex codes.

The Scroll contained clues for all of the above.

A more detailed explanation of the solution and clues  (along with additional clues given each month) are given below:

The symbols within the wings provide instructions on how to move the numbers within the body of the Scarab to form Magic Squares.  Each symbol indicated how to move one number either up, down, or over (and by how many).  Moving the numbers accordingly created magic squares. All columns and diagonals equaled 15.

The Directions, ‘With the Cross between Corners of Gold’, along with the square filled with the letters knowledge, hinted the squares should be filled with the alphabet.   IV(X) meant 4 squares were left empty of the 30.  The serpent, with head and tail, beginning and end, hinted on where to start with A and end with Z.  This is how a Senet board’s path goes as well, and where it was said the Scroll was found.

The clue: TOGETHER IN ONE R CENTERS FOUND confirms that the letter R is center of the first square.

Once the letters are with numbers, the letters KEY, followed as K-E-Y, create the shape 7.   So KEY is 7.  Hints to this are many.  The MW found by the dice in bottom right of scroll (dot to dot-12345MW drawing) demonstrated the reverse of how numbers, drawn, can create a letter. So letters can create a number.

Other clues: FIND SHAPE(find the shape of 7),  NUMBER OF THREE (7 was the number of 3/KEY/984), THREE BE ONE (3/key/984 =7)

Realizing KEY is 7, then it can be noticed the number 7 in the squares give WIN. Searchers were told to use the Key to Win.

Noticing that END63=9 hints to Z, which is the number 9, is also 6-3.  Sixth row, 3rd column.   This hinted to a modification of the Polybius square.  This was further confirmed by the DICE, EYES, and 1.  This was like a rebus.  1-1 is/eyes 1/A.  1-1 is A.   So searchers were given the code to WIN by giving the first and last letters (1-1 and 6-3 (A and Z))

The KEY is 7, so the numbers 3-3/W, 9-1/I, and 7-2/N were discovered and used on the square below to WIN.

All a searcher had to do was count, going in the path of the serpent again, 3,3,9,1,7,2, to find the Treasure: WISDOM.

The additional clues provided each month weren’t necessary, but offered guidance.  However, many of their deeper meanings were being overlooked by their surface meanings.

For instance:

Clue 4: ‘FIRST, Understand The Actions’ hinted to UTA, the FIRST letters of ‘understand the actions’and were the FIRST letters of the squares (196). Many searchers took this to only hint to the symbols of the wings used to create the magic squares.

With the above, I think the rest of the clues can be realized for their additional meanings.

    1. Simple counting from a certain starting point. In the bottom left corner of the Scroll are Dice and HJRBKT (which decodes to THIRTY). The Dice hinted to the amount of letters in the phrase: 8/together, 2/in, 3/one, 1/R, 7/centers, 5/found. The THIRTY hinted to you start counting after 30– A-Z AROUND to the other side Z-A (as the ouroboros hinted to). Start counting from the D (30 around)… so 16//T, 21/O, 18/G…etc…round and round for the phrase.
