Another incredible adventure coming our way! Natalie Nelson has created Parish: A Treasure Hunt, and is challenging you to solve the clues and claim the treasure. The hunt offers a prize valued at over $5,000.  Will you be the one to claim the prize!?  Let’s learn more about this armchair treasure hunt via the following Six Questions with Natalie!  Enjoy!

Six Questions with Natalie:

  • 1Q) So exciting to see another armchair treasure hunt available to challenge our minds! How does one get involved in Parish: A Treasure Hunt and is it a ‘full armchair treasure hunt’ or is some Boots on the Ground required?

For now the hunt will be released via the Facebook page: “Parish, a treasure hunt”. The release date is set for July 1st 2020. The location of the prize will be revealed entirely through the 6 pages supplied, to within a 20 foot radius, requiring you to go to the location to retrieve a proxy item that will be apparent to anyone who has solved the hunt. You can then exchange the item for the prize.

  • 2Q) Can you share more of what a person who first solves the clues will be rewarded with? What is the treasure they will claim?

The prize currently is approximately $5000.00 worth of faceted, treated gemstones as well as some gold jewelry pieces, including a golden cross pendant endowed with rubies and sapphires, this is not the hunt to miss!

  • 3Q) What are some ways this Treasure Hunt differs from others you have offered in the past? What are some ways it might be similar?

This hunt is different from my previous hunts because it will have a proxy item that is hidden in case the site is disturbed or happened upon. This proxy will only be appealing to someone who is in the area and looking for it specifically— someone who has solved the hunt.  “Parish” is similar to past hunts in the way that you must decode artistic illustrations to reveal the location.

  • 4Q) What advice to searchers can you give for this hunt?  Do you expect the hunt to be quickly solved, or do you feel it might last longer than a year? Or two? Or more?

My advice to anyone who is going to take the hunt on is this: Think creatively, use your eyes in ways you usually would not. Use your imagination when you would lean on logic. I estimate that the hunt will take a couple of years but I am always surprised at peoples creative energies.

  • 5Q) Do you feel anyone can solve the clues and claim the prize?  Even someone brand new to armchair treasure hunting?  How do you rate the difficulty of the hunt?

The hunt can surely be solved by anyone that puts the time into it. I don’t try for an impossible hunt, I just be sure to make it tough enough for one person/group to solve it FIRST. I would rate this hunt a 4 out of 5 for difficulty to solve and to stray from my normal routine a 1 out of 5 for risk involved in obtaining the prize.

  • 6Q) Many have enjoyed your past treasure hunts and puzzles. What continues to inspire you to create and offer these exciting challenges?

As far as drive to create? I love the idea of rewarding people for using their brains creatively. Designing these allows me to do the same thing for myself as well. I get to expel some creativity and others get to enjoy the illustrations — if not claim the loot.
