Treasures can be found anytime, anywhere, and in lots of different ways.  MW shares five of these finds in the following episode of MW’s Treasure News!  The found treasure stories might offer ideas on where you might find treasure!

1)Meteorite worth $100,000 dollars

According to a study by PA Bland, it is thought at least 20,000 meteorites over 10 grams land on Earth each year.  In a news article ( CNN: Oct 2018: Meteorite), it was reported that back in the 1930’s a farmer found one of these objects which fell form the sky on his land.  He used this 22 pound rock as a doorstop and didn’t think much about it.  So did the person who owned the farm next, and then took it with him when he moved to Michigan.  He continued using it as a doorstop, until curiosity got the best of him and he decided to have it appraised.

It was realized to one of the finest Meteorite specimens around and is worth around $100,000 dollars.

2)HCB Treasure Cache in New Mexico

In September, 2018, TxTH set off on a trip to New Mexico from his home in Texas.  He was following clues to a buried treasure!  The treasure cache was part of H. Charles Beil’s treasure hunts. Arriving to the location, with a little while to spare before sunset, TxTh searched the location he was directed to by the hunt’s clues. About ready to give up, and come back in the morning, he looked down and noticed a curious grouping of rocks.  He quickly moved them and dug down to discover TreasureMan’s hidden cache of old coins!  He followed the clues and found the treasure!

3)Pre-Viking Sword found in Lake by 8 Year Old Girl

While swimming in a Swedish lake, Saga Vanecek, who was 8 years old, felt something she thought at first was stick. Bringing it out of the water, she realized it was actually a sword. They took the found treasure to a local museum where after further study it was discovered to be a pre-Viking Sword dating back to around 500 AD.  What a find!

4) Crater of Diamonds 2018 Diamonds Found

The Crater of Diamonds State Park features a 37 and 1/2 acre field where the public is allowed to go and look for Diamonds.  They have been found in this section of land since 1906.  Over the search season of 2018, park officials stated that at least 256 diamonds had been found at the park.  5 of the gems were over 1 carat.  According to a news article of Arkansas, one of those diamonds was found by a 71 year old woman in September (2018), and came in weighing at 2.63 carats.

5) Treasure Hidden in Old Piece of Furniture

Have you ever purchased an old piece of furniture at an auction or other type of sale? If so, check all nooks and crannies carefully!  According to the Miami Herald, Jesse Brody had acquired an old 1920’s dental cabinet in 2014.  It sat around his warehouse for years until in 2018 he decided to clean it out.

What he found was over 30,000 worth of cash, gold, jewelry, and other small valuables tucked in the back of a drawer.  Also within were the late owner’s passport. Instead of keeping the treasure himself, Brody plans to use the passport to track down the rightful heirs to the treasure.
