  1. “Did someone else know the place you hid your Treasure Chest?” ~ is different than asking ” Did someone else know”OF” the place you hid your Treasure Chest? ~ I am sure that more than one person in Forrest’s life knows “OF” the place, but that they do NOT know that it was this place that he his it – JMO – JDA

    1. JDA, I totally agree with you. Here is a copy and paste comment by Tom Terrific from Dal’s blog: “… In November of 2013 an Emmy Award winning film crew called http://www.moonshots productions.com were hired by “Animal Planet Network” to film a pilot series of reality actors for a possible long term production based on Treasure Hunting. My brother and I were selected along with 3 other members of our group, a young couple who were already actors and my wife who is also a native New Mexican. Eric Hartman ehartman@moonshot-productions.com and his assistant Dave, film crew were all part of the http://www.moomshots.com who interviewed Forrest in November, 2013, Forrest told them “His father would know where he hid the treasure.” Eric and Dave told us what ff had said to them on that following November day in 2013 just prior to our filming.”

      1. I posted this to support what JDA said about the two different meanings. When Forest told the film crew his father would know where he hid the treasure, imo, that means Ff’s father had also been to the spot where ff eventually chose to hide it.

      1. Because logic tells me someone else would know of the place where he hid the treasure. How can no one know of the place? A lot of people know of the Rocky Mountains… therefore a lot of people know the place… lol I need more coffee!!! 🙂

    1. Pretty sure we won’t get an answer to that question. Thank you Forrest for keeping us engaged. I for one am having a hard time waiting till my next trip. It’s invigorating being out there and I miss it. But alas I must continue to wait…

      1. Tis the season of miracles! Ya just never know if you don’t ask for one.

And thank you Dampenedmyth! I need a reminder that I do believe that miracles are possible…every day and not just in holiday seasons. I’d lost sight of that lately.

Forrest and Jenny thank you as always! Carolyn, you too.

  2. You’re welcome everyone. I was just wondering the question to see if he was there at the location with someone and now they have passed away or is it just a saying. Thank you Jenny for asking him and thank you Forrest for answering and Merry Christmas to all!

    Carolyn
    1. That was a good question, Carolyn.

Like Jdiggins and Twingem mentioned it might have been even better to clarify the past and present tenses in your question. Oh well. Forrest might not have answered the question if you asked it any other way. 🙂

But…after all…Forrest DID say that he went ALONE in there…right at the beginning of The Poem. It was a good question to clarify if anyone else knew the location at that time.

Btw, is your birthday in December…which may have inspired your mom or dad to name you Carolyn?

I can hear Nat King Cole singing Caroling, Caroling in my head. He sings a wonderful version of that song with lots of bells ringing.

My younger sister Natalie got her name for that very reason…being born a few days before Christmas.

Thank You, Jenny and Forrest…and Caroling…I mean Carolyn. 🙂

I Love the Reason for the Season…

    1. Iceman, you nailed it. Just me. My war for Me, an important Memoir.

As I go Alone in there with My treasures Bold. If searchers aren’t connected with the first clue of being Vain, look again! You gotta love the Vane, did I say Vain? or is it the weather Vane in the story about Eric Sloane? Or the Vane on the bombs in the map?

Vain is Me, Myself and I.

    1. Iceman, could be. I have often thought of the hillcrest for a possible place of the chest. But we need to nail down the first clue to get there or it will be expensive folly-paraphrase.

Did you know Vain is to be foolish?

Vain is hollow. Your first clue is Vain/hollow. Now find the right hollow where the wwh.

  3. Thanks to all of you, for the new “Who Knews.” This is good to know – he was alone. Nice work, Carolyn, the go to, when. Ya know, you’re quite the scriver and I could use a getaway driver. So, I’m layin’ it on the table: “What days are you available?” There’s time to spare, but I’m almost there – just working on the all the whys. Although I’m not entirely sure, I think it has something to do with flies. So my dear canny lass, we can’t leave fast, but rest assured, the job pays well. We won’t head west, until we’ve honored the Quest, and chances are I can work around your schedule.

  4. There is no doubt in my mind that he thought of everything. He realized it was possible that the treasure chest would not be found before he was no longer with us. As for the revelation of the said spot, not sure it really is a Good Idea for the finder to disclose that information.

    1. Hello, Chesney and Bob.

Forrest certainly said that he thought of everything. I even remember a video interview in his home where Forrest even described the personality of the eventual finder. I think it was during the interview with Todd Loveto…but I’m not certain.

I’ve tried to find the video on YouTube for the last hour or so without success. That’s all part of The Thrill of the Chase…I reckon. Maybe somebody else can recall the interview and post a link…or maybe it simply vanished off the interwebs.

          1. Interesting. It is interesting how far back in time he said the things that he has repeated over and over since. I wonder if he still feels the same about the type of person who would find it. Would they announce it or not?

            Pen Ghost
            1. I take Forrest at his word. This is his creation. He knows all the whys (wise?), whos, wheres, whats, whens and hows. (WWWWWH?)

It would be silly to say that Forrest “obviously knows something.” LOL!

The point is…he knows exactly what he says and why he says it. I think his verbal “mistakes” are very few and far between…if any.

If I ever found his Treasure I’d say give me a bullhorn…LOL…and maybe a Indiana Jones style bullwhip…just for fun. 🙂

Of course…I wouldn’t tell anyone until after I told Forrest. If the treasure is found while he’s alive I’m sure he has a way that he’d like things to go. The finder would have to be a fool not to honor Forrest’s wishes regarding such.

              JC1117
                1. I do not think ff indicated what he wants the finder to do. I do not recall anywhere where ff says what he wants after it is found. So, how does the finder some day do something that is not known?

                  Pen Ghost
                2. Based on his original “last clue” it seems to me he might want the treasure to be displayed in the Denver Museum of Science and Technology. I think that name is correct.

                  Iceman
  5. I’d take it back to him and say “here you go, now what?” Then I would ask to try on those zebra boots and go have a toddy at “the pink.” I think he is simply saying that nobody knows where it was hidden when he hid it but the forecast has changed. Good question Carolyn, a lovely name you have!

  6. I feel a lot of us believe we know the place where the treasure is hidden. What would it take for someone to know for sure? And would anyone else likely believe them? Highly doubtful. So we are at an impasse until someone retrieves it. And until then I like many of us will continue pushing forward in my personal quest.

    1. The Me is within each of us. Think of it as a meme of sorts. It has an over reaching and recognizable pattern but each one of us has our own way of making it spin.

Also, schools like Evergreen encourage the unique spin of the student. Creative education.

A ‘just me’ would be one who has fully developed their individual meme to the point of self government…which implies all kinds of creative potentials. ☀️
