Mr. Fenn–

If your poem was in Braille, how close could Helen Keller get to the chest on her own?   ~ Hitchhiker

Don’t know Hitch, but I would probably tell her to team up with the little girl in India. f

  1. What can the Little Girl in India do that Helen can’t do? The obvious answer is look at the map. Although it is only a map of the Rickies, and not have the detail needed to solve more than two clues, it is at least a map. The Little Girl in India can describe to Helen what she sees. Would this be enough? Probably not, but it would help. JMO – JDA

P.S. This answer uses 18 words (9 X 2). How do we interpret this one Inohury? JDA

    JDA
        1. I stand by my earlier post; 18 x 2…read the question, count the words; read the answer, count the words.
Count the syllables in both: 24

          Hitchhiker: Hitch Hiker

          Hitch =?

What does Mr. Fenn not know about the Hitch?

          Inohury
    1. JDA- I can give you the exact coordinates if you’re heading out soon. And I mean exact. I am struggling to find anyone that’ll make the trip out west with me this weekend. But I need to get back to finish this. I believe I had an unsinkable solution. No tricks or weird info, just easy to understand. Let me know, please and thank you

      1. You might want to check yr elevation. Though he did raise the upper end by 200′ and since As above So below then it would make sense that 4800′ wood work if brave but I don’t want to throw the answer out there for everyone to hear. The trumpet will blare until I’m red in the face, in two days. The path into the bowl is fraught with borders of private property and almost landlocked. Almost. He tells us in so many ways about his thoughts on govt/land management and freedom. So of course he picked a spot where this came into play for the trip back to the “car”. I have my way in and my buddy will be in his “car”. You should see the good map lol, a rainbow. I’m either whereing waiters or hiking in foul whether. I hope it’s the foul whether and not untipped waders. But I AM MAking time mite be too early.

        1. The cornet flags the red rock face up Meek’s Alley and there is nothing the government can say to keep it a secret. They conditioned me to walk away, but what happens when everyone walks away? What happens when nobody chooses to ignore the wrongs only because of the Simpleton and forces those guilty of such heinous crimes against humanity to explain themselves to the man at the gate? When we are all standing next to one another it shouldn’t matter how yellow our clouds are on top or how orange the trillion dollar spraytan didn’t cover our keister. It definitely should matter if they shouldn’t be up here with us due to failures and unlearned lessons those promotional items caused them to ruin the one thing we must sustain to survive. Anyway…

        1. Why Fenn chose HK, in my Open eye on, is that the behol’d treasures are profiles of “large note” with an Eye an a Ear, but can’t hear not see. Btw large note was pointing out the drop caps in book. Part of the fun puzzles along the way. I chose the poem, not the many puzzle. Here’s one of the puzzles and solution and how it applies to poem: jump-start the learning curve and time stamp. The time stamp has an offset of -4 by day of the WEAK it should be. Take the -4 and apply to the letters in the circle “cent” you get “YAJP” that is Jay P/JP both directions and in both manners, showing a wraparound also. It all gets applied back to poem. It took me 5 minutes to solve this one after I was being indirectly challenged to find how they are applied. I don’t think people take my effort and skillset seriously but hooo cares. The treasure chest might just be under the little Indian girl called Wooden Maiden.

      1. She couldn’t hear the blaze. Listen all and hear me good. The blaze could be a sound. Or perhaps a compilation of the five senses.
Taste, touch, site, smell and hearing.
Neither can find the blaze because neither can hear or see. One is deaf and blind and the other is in India. You must see it and hear it. And the sound will be coming from the East perhaps?

If you want to solve it, you must go??
I don’t know. I hope our wandering searcher can thumb a ride soon.

  2. The technology that might make this possible is GPS with Braille. The little girl from India knows precisely where the treasure is. She just needs to give those coordinates to Helen. No problem (without a hitch).

It couldn’t hurt for Helen to have her cell phone with camera just in case she needs a little help finding it. Or … is there a web cam in the area that can be accessed with an IP address? Is the IP address hidden in the poem? Could searchers view the chest from their phones if they knew the IP address of the web cam? 📱Where are my manners? Thanks Mr. Fenn, Jenny, and Hitchhiker.
Not sure if this solves the dilemma. Sorry that’s all I have time for.

    1. Are you wearing a sandal? I sting or is it a candle you bee. I’m waxing philosophical cause my qi’ needs a good salt water bath and it’s tooth brushed. Don’t listen to me I’m odd and I walk around with a cross that too many have handled. By soloman I think I’ve ran like a bull through a china shop. I’ll have to weight till sun up to do my conversions, thank you Shakes and Bennie. Did I bug you guys too much and forget Poe(m)? Anyone HAVE R-4 yet, in a country kindah way?

  3. I had wondered when I first started the Chase if the Poem could be solved by only Hearing it, or did one have to SEE the physical poem to solve it? I am prone to believe now that the poem cannot be solved by only hearing it—–you need to be able to see it as you hear it. This leads me to believe that the poem itself (written and physically) hides something that you cannot HEAR—-you need to see it. It doesn’t merely give directions that one might listen to–the words themselves are a physical map that you must see. So a blind person could not solve the poem on their own because they would only be able to hear it, not see it. A deaf person could solve it—they can both see it and HEAR it in their mind as they read.

      1. Someone born deaf would not know what sound really is. Someone who has gone deaf would. I think the point I was trying to make is that even reading with Braille it would be very difficult to “see” acrostics or hidden things someone with sight would recognize. You could see line by line as you read in Braille, but it would be very very difficult to see the whole poem, because you would need to feel the whole poem at one time.
Perhaps a blind person could solve the poem, but I think it would be far more difficult for them to do so. There is always the outside chance that Forrest is saying that the Little Indian Girl will never find it—so Helen Keller, perhaps having the same disadvantage will never have a chance of finding it either— so they might as well be partners.

Who knows? But thanks to Forrest for posting his answer. Happy 88th Forrest!!! Unbelievable!!!

  4. This one is FUN! I wonder if the LGFI has the correct strategy, and HK has the correct general location but is traipsing around not seeing the big picture.

How do we get these two goofballs together? Helen Keller sounds like Binocular Guy to me. Maybe she’d see better if she drank less.

    1. Ive been wining and dining HK cause he is wandering about but he has means and I have solve. At the end, witch is very very soon, I think we will both need something the other has. That’s my story and I may not bee sticking to it. Oh crap yeah I am. I had bison in solve but that’s not right. By George the light bulb just came on!!! Or do I terri a little and knell it down? Yep that’s it. Someone call 911, I am birthing a monster of an epiphany, damn it might be two! Somebody kick me to wake me up.

      1. If you had it solved an epiphany would be replaced with a swivet, imo. You are too all over for me to vote for you. Look what Trump went and had services rendered for. And that was after the obvious secksyst remark about the kitty cat. I don’t trust your confidence, imo. Good luck though hopefully you know what you are doing. I can’t tell through the shorthand kitchen scratch fever. You don’t scare me or make me sweat. You still have to solve it on the floor. Yeah yeah easy riiiiiiiight…

  5. And that was no disrespect to Helen Keller. She is a role model to young women everywhere. I’m not referring to the real Helen Keller, I’m referring to the searcher Forrest is referring to. Helen Keller/Dizzy Dean/Binocular Guy. Same same same. I think.

  6. Later that evening when things finally calmed down and the rental car counters were all just waiting for that delayed Southwest flight from Kansas City to arrive with their last customers, Arlene, who had just started at Hertz last Tuesday, couldn’t help but reflect on that lady with the foreign looking little girl. Something wasn’t quite right about them, she thought. She wished now that she had just sent them down to Avis. But there were so many customers waiting impatiently behind them. “Next time,” she told herself, “I’ll be sure to check the ‘restrictions’ section of the drivers license.” Next time….

  7. Happy 88th, f.

“There is something more important than any ultimate weapon. That is the ultimate position — the position of total control over Earth that lies somewhere out in space. That is … the distant future, though not so distant as we may have thought. Whoever gains that ultimate position gains control, total control, over the Earth, for the purposes of tyranny or for the service of freedom.”

  8. I think he’s referring to the fact that someone has it solved and they have been wavering because they aren’t able to make it back out to retrieve it due to $, time, kids, etc. so he is saying this person should team up with someone who can put botg to retrieve it. They don’t need to see or know the location of they partner with someone who has it figured out. I’ve solved it. I have no doubt. Many veteran searchers bring up some of the solve but the main part seems to allude people, at least on the blogs. I’ve been asking for someone honest to get it for me. I have exact, precise location. I am a single dad and over 1300 miles away. I went earlier this year to check it but it was not retrievable yet. Please, if you would like to help finish it, or jdiggins, if you would like the solve of a lifetime, I’d like to partner. Ff went here alone, and it takes some guts. But I have kids and don’t make enough or have friends that are willing to go again. 🙁

    1. I hate to be the “guy” that does this(doing it anyway) but what state are you absolutely certain it is in? If I’m around I might drop by for free on my clock. I do have obligation to one individual after I wrap mine up. Determining where it ain’t seems to be the best and only surefire way to get this over with. If it ends today, are we going to be ok? I’m going to preemptively organize a support group with our own fenn related adventures all over the maps, good and bad. Once I’m officially deemed NOT the one, I’m sure I will owe some apologies. But, I am proud of what I have put together and honestly my target audience is me 151 years from now. So it doesn’t matter much to me what those whose time happens to be existing aside mine think of me or especially say. Goonies Never Say Die.

  9. Thanks for the question hitchhiker, and thanks jenny and Forrest.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY forrest!

Between the two of them…lgfi can’t touch (too far away), but hk can. Hk can’t see or hear but LGFI can. The two of them together have all five senses…
And taste and smell are double…

    Yeah, I got nothin..

  10. Happy Birthday Forrest!
Funny, I was thinking about dots when I went to sleep after striking out somewhere north of my hotel last night.
Then I wake up to this post this morning. Really wanted to get your bracelet to you today, a little bummed about falling short of that goal. Back to the drawing board again I guess. Much more thinking required, I reckon.
    Have a great 88th!

    1. Yeah skiing area is the end, plus 3pm is a good time I believe to duck out for a beer afterwards. Myself, I Don’t believe in Santa. I kick field goals to, but, try as I may I miss to the left a little. I may need to adjust my sites. On a notha topic, I have two cabins and 1 cab, but time for only 1 vacation, which casino do I go to and why is it sno where can I find one bag of M&Ms? I’m not as good at this as some are, but I am good at what I do when picturing the big picture.

  11. JDiggins-great post. Here’s the problem with HK and LGFI; they’ve never met. There is no communication between them. Unless there is a way to bridge the gap between them, I don’t see them finding one another. HK must be revealed to LGFI, because HK is looking for her and can’t see her, and LGFI is still sitting on that second clue. I’m wondering if LGFI isn’t in India at all, I’m wondering if she’s “on site.”

My suggestion-searchers need to share more about their location.

LGFI, if you are out there…start dropping super sly hints. Helen Keller will find you. Boy that sounded weird….and a little spooky.

Isn’t this fun guys? This is fun!

    1. It truly is fun and I like the way I Broadcast, even if I get burned by others. I could quickly get out of the way but I have to hand it to myself, when things get slippery I know how to handle myself, especially in tight situations. I’ve been alone at the top of the heel, drinking cowboy coffee, in a well heeled place. You have to stay dry, like my mouth when a bear comes around. Lightning strikes can often lead to fires and Uncle Sam is hot on your trail if one gets caught. Sly enough or Bligh enough, it’s the TRY that counts

    1. Hello John. Should Helen Keller had been alive, and unless Mr. Fenn knows sign language, she could place her fingers on his lips and read what he had to say this way. Same with the little girl from India, if she was a true person, the communication with Helen Keller would be the same; sign language and/or reading her lips by touch.

There may be more to this.

Thank you for the “Featured Question” Jenny, Hitchhiker, and Mr. Fenn.

    2. Now you listen hear, John!

      Oh…wait…

I was prepared to give you an earful…until I realized you’re totally correct.

See what happens when one jumps to conclusions?

      Thanks, Jenny…and Hitch…

      and Happy Birthday, Forrest Fenn!

    3. Oh I did and not because of that, witch is obvious, but because of the story he tells. I’m broadcasting to HK but she isn’t paying at tencion. Hellooooo can you here mia voice? The Chase and solve is robbing me blind of time and I can takit it only so far, team up team down, feather me in but believe me I know for which eye speak. Well I’m going soon, sooner be better than ladder but I have an absolute horrible feeling in my guts that I might bee late to the wood. I better knot finish 2nd, that’s been the worse nightmare scenario.

  12. Hello fallingrock. I read your post on the “Little India Girl” link and concur with the difference of “in India” vs. “from India”. “In India,” two “in,” sounds like “twin”. “Hitch” and “team up” have similar meanings.

  14. Mr. Fenn’s response over at Dal’s made me think of the portrait of George Washington, painted by Gilbert Stuart, which was touched on the face by the children. Helen Keller would have touched the face, too. I’ll have to go back and reread the chapter, “Teachers With Ropes.”

  15. I don’t believe their is any clue to this one, the question to Forrest mentioned Helen, he only mentioned the little girl from India. I will now share with you a big hint from a story on Dale’s site, The sound of Bell’s, is the story from Forrest. Please, just look yourselfs and yes I’m throwing you all a curve ball on this story, don’t know where your going with this anyway. OK!! ‘ As you will see he starts the story about Eric S. and train bells along with Eric’s biography but the main topic of the story is, (Rings) . I do Photoshop and the picture of Fenns bell post is Photoshop, there is a white ghosly line around it, yes he has that bell in his backyard, but he had to put a post he could talk about with a lot of age to it. Rings, carbon dating, a post that held up a Indian home, what happened to the story about Eric ? He doesn’t mention him throughout the rest of the story. I believe he is talking about LAYERS, layers of time, earth layer, the first clue and the second will be on the serfuce but the rest will be on your way down through the layers of the earth. The Rocky’s you can walk on a slop and see the layers, now read the poam again, here’s some that could point you in a down word position, (as I’ve gone alone IN THERE, take it in the canyon DOWN, put in BELOW the home of Brown, there will be NO paddle UP, look quickly DOWN. That’s what he’s always been doing is unearthing artifacts and still is, that’s his thrill. Sorry to everyone for interrupting but after reading some of this blog it sounded like the blind leading the blind.

  16. Don’t forget to paws at some of my misspelled words, another Photoshop picture is the one where Forrest is setting with all his Indian collection, he’s setting in the corner of the room with a bowl in his lap, the to pictures that look out of place, well they are. Zoom in on the one on the right, you will see that same white ghostly ring around it but also the moccasins that are lined up along the wall start to fade away, you can see the bottoms of the ones that are hanging their where the picture is , so funny.

    1. I have always believed that was done to tone down or censor certain artifacts. Not only would they be offensive to pretty much everyone, but some things are sacred. I like to believe the photo is a display of the artifacts left lost to the finder instead of a white man’s showcase of praised thievery of a people. Intent is the breakermaker. It is more appealing to the eye when a slight feather is applied rather than the cliche beginner glow. The Shop is neat but I’m more of a vectorstrator. GN world

  17. Right over your heads, except Falling Rock. “I don’t kno WhITCH, but EYE WOOD TALE her two leagues/team up-thnx RT-(in 20,000 leagues under the Sea a league is 4k or 17” and is hinting at the watery path we must follow) and distance. 1. You have to be there JDAand LuckyGuy. The little India girl and Helen Keller can look all they want, but imagination is the key. JDA, It started raining this a.m., that didn’t concern me as much as the lightning that came with it. If I am the one, it’s almost done. Happy searching everyone!

        1. Heres an Indiana Jones type puzzle for LGFI & HK or you to consider… if they are INSIDE ff’s WHERE (the chest lies in wait) and the poem said they must be in the “fold of wool” to receive title to the gold. How would you interpret “in the wool fold”? Like Indiana Jones do you interpret a spiritual context like belonging to Christ, the Great Shepherd, OR do you look for a woolen Indian blanket covering the chest?
