thrill of the chase treasure chest
The Hidden Treasure Chest

Forrest, when the Treasure Chest is found, would you prefer the finder not disclose the exact resting spot? Curious. ~ Afana

Afana, I love your name. It reminds me of alfalfa, which has the greatest smell in the world when freshly cut in the field.

Whoever finds the treasure will have more than a few decisions to make. One of them will be whether or not to reveal the location. I will leave that up to the finder. f

Best of luck with all that you seek!  Always Treasure the Adventure!

  1. What will the searcher who finds it do? What would you all do?

Although we plan to anonymously let the fact be known the treasure chest was found (by giving the bracelet back to Forrest)…. we don’t plan on revealing anything more.

  2. Grace under pressure, no doubt. Difficult decision to make, and one I hope that may reveal itself to the finder when found as there are many things yet unseen I believe. In this world, it might be difficult to remain anonymous for any length of time, despite best intentions and attempts to do so. Always good to have a plan ahead of time, and remember “best laid plans”.

  3. I have no clue what I’d do if I found it. Like a dog that caught it’s tail. I’m Afana the Chase so I’d like to think I’d keep it going somehow. Biggist thing would be getting to pull back the curtain and meet the wizard.

  4. HOLY CRAP! I just noticed something.

He said “WHOEVER finds the treasure.” And his Feb questions were “I have a gut feeling that someone will find it this summer.”

The WHOEVER distinguishes more than one, so it would appear that AT LEAST two people might have it solved and are just weeks away from ending the Chase.

Seems that we do have a race on our hands.

  5. Ok..let me get this thing out’er here. He did say to tarry scant just take it and leave, didn’t he.
Holy crap, this chest is heavy.Shall I just leave with some now and come back for the rest later?Hmmm, can’t wait to read that biography..gotta hurry. Is there anyone around (nope, don’t see no one),they must be all in Yellowstone..haha.😄
I have to sit down to put this backpack on..you’re killing me Forrest. I have to call Forrest asap, after I read what the biography says and after I roll on the contents in my hotel room.
Now..What the heck am I going to do with this thing? How am I supposed to get it home? Will TSA remove it from me? Then everyone will know who found it. Maybe I’ll just ask Forrest to keep it safe for a month while I get a plan going.
Ring..ring…ring. Hi,Forrest. Did you get the pics I sent you. I have to say your bracelet is very stunning.
Forrest ..”Good for you”. ( short and sweet reply’s) 😂 Let’s meet.
    🤣🤣🤣🤣

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU MOTHERS AND ALSO TO PEGGY AND THE GIRLS,FORREST.

  6. If I found the treasure, I would leave it there. I would maybe contact FF and explain the location. It would be cool to meet him, in person to tell him the location. Just to see his expression. I am dead broke, have no savings and need money, but part of me would want to leave it.

  7. I think the finder should reveal the hiding place. But not right away. And even though Fenn seems to not care I would still get his blessings first. It’s a safe bet that I will probably never rope a wild buffalo, or eject from a supersonic fighter plane so nobody is going to listen to my life story hanging on every word. All anyone will care about hearing from the finder is how he found Fenns treasure.
People have and will disagree with me on this topic, but I think the finder is obligated to reveal the hiding place and bring and end and proper closure to the Chase. IMO.

  8. Ah, yes, the sweet smells of summer! Forrest conjures fond memories from my early days with this statement, and I yearn for simpler, more carefree times when farm jobs were plentiful for young boys and girls who, with eager eyes, looked forward to a day of hard work. Today, the formation of those memories and lessons seems a thing of the past and they appear to exist only in the deep recesses of what I believe are more fortunate minds. Progress, it seems, is a very relative thing and heavily dependent on perspective.

Regarding post-find concerns, my mind tends to not stray there, but when it does, it’s typically only a fleeting thought. The whole concept of the Chase seems focused on the journey – the thrill of the chase – and that’s where my thoughts tend to gravitate. The reality of ultimate success is highly unlikely but, long ago, I accepted that and chose to try.

With that, the snow in many parts of the Rockies is grudgingly giving ground, literally, and since Forrest’s revelation earlier this year regarding “a physical presence is needed to complete the solve”, I believe it’s quite important to mitigate, when possible, those variables that seem detrimental to a searcher’s final effort – snow being one of them. So, I watch as time and nature have their way.

The most important step is always . . . the next one. Safe travels.
