forrest fennDear Mr. Fenn,

Iย read recently about someone whose life was changed for the better because of your writings and the buried treasure story. Can you tell me something how your life has changed because of it? Thanks, Mondo

Sure I can Mondo. I am more introspective in a positive way than I used to be. No less than a dozen people have said the TOTC has given them new purpose at a time in their life when they thought there was nothing more to hang around for. Those thoughts are deeply profound and have made me all the more satisfied that I hid the treasure. f

  1. Your hunt is an inspiration, Forrest! I have explored and learned about so many things I know I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the Thrill of the Chase. And they are wonderful things. As the title of the Question states, they are treasures worth more than the Gold…..

(but don’t get me wrong…. in finding those things doesn’t mean I don’t continue to seek the gold treasure…I still do!! and love it all the more!!)

  2. Thanks Jenny and Forrest!!! I feel like the statue in the picture a lot too only I have a much more confused look on my face ๐Ÿ™‚ But seriously thank you for the Chase Forrest I hร ve gotten to learn about and explore so many beautiful places I never even knew existed before the Chase.

  3. Jenny, you seem to have an innate ability with the pictures you select. Rodin was a sculpture and drawer. He was some what of a rebel in how he choose to do his work with many not accepting of it at first. Forrest worked with sculptures and drawings and was also somewhat of a rebel in how he choose to operate his gallery. I just thought that was very interesting.

    1. I don’t mean to put words in your mouth, Hound…but I think you mean you’re on THE Chase of all chases. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, again, Forrest and Jenny for a wonderfull, ponderous question and answer…and thank you, Mondo, for asking about it.

  4. Treasure worth more than gold. While I feel my life has been on the road and in many woods and adventure would be a polite word for my experiences, the profound part of the chase is, “Go in peace.” That is the life changing/life saving part. Word puzzles can replace other mental focuses and give me peace for the first time in what seems “forever”.

  5. The treasure is at the bottom of a waterfall, in the deep pool at the bottom. the treasure cannot be accessed by foot – one must make use of mountaineering equipment to descend into the waterfall. It is not buried – merely hidden by the gushing water. It is likely in a mountain reserve. It is in a waterfall that is off the beaten track, ie not a significant waterfall. it could also be at the base of a dam wall.

    1. Chris – I like your out of the box type of thinking but – you might want to rethink the bottom of the waterfall – as FF has said – no special equipment was needed….and I don’t think it is even near water as water would hurt the chest. Another reason it is not there – is simply because he didn’t have to place it in a hard to get to spot. Keep in mind he was 79 or 80 when he did this. Water is a tremendous force when it wants to be – and the chest is not locked. He also said the TC is not associated with a dam. We all thought of these things when we started and so – carry on and good luck to you.
