Video snapshot of Once Upon A While page

As many of us searchers for Forrest Fenn’s Treasure are aware, Forrest has a new book coming out!  It’s called Once Upon A while.  The MW exclusive ‘sneak peek video’ into Forrest’s third memoir offers a glimpse into the exceptional work being done to get it finished and ready for the November 2nd Collected Works book signing with Forrest and Douglas Preston.

Douglas Preston wrote the beautiful foreword to Once Upon A While, which was generously shared ahead of time by Forrest.  Douglas’ foreword can be read Here.

Previously to sharing the foreword, MW posted a featured question with Forrest Fenn that announced the release of his new book, and answers what many are asking about Once Upon A While; What’s the book about?  The featured question is reposted below to provide that answer!

Mr. Fenn,

There is a lot of talk about you backing away from the chase as evidenced by your lack of posting on the blogs. Some say your health is not good and that is why you stopped. It is lonesome without you. Do you have anything to say about that? Thanks,  ~Billy S

Well Billy,

Every day for the last few years I’ve told myself to retire, and I always do – for a few days. But just last night I finished the 39th story in my 3rd memoir. I selected what I think are my best Scrapbooks, rewrote them, added lots of new graphics, stick figures, and new/old photos. It is pretty much designed and will be printed next week hopefully.

Doug Preston wrote a lengthy foreword that beautifully sets the tone for what is to come. He and I will launch the book at Collected Works bookstore on November 2nd. After that maybe I will retire for sure, but I secretly hope not. f

However, many of us still wonder, “Are there any clues within Once Upon A While?”.  As of now, Forrest is not answering that question.   In an article of the Albuquerque Journal by Megan Bennett, this was stated.

Forrest confirmed the following statement with me, and so…

‘Are there any clues within Once Upon A While?’  is the featured question of this post. 🙂

Forrest’s answer:

“I don’t want to say more about the contents, except to say that I think it will have broad human interest,”

So maybe, maybe not.  Seems like the ‘Is it Buried Question’.  Could be, Could be not. 🙂

Best of luck to all that you seek!  And Always Treasure the Adventure!

      1. I’ve come to enjoy Cynthia’s contributions to Dal’s site greatly; more than most others’. As I drive around NM, I keep a look-out for a lady with a dog or two in a FJ or pick-up (not sure about current # of dogs or vehicle, though).

  1. Thanks Jenny,
Wow, if the book is anything like the sample picture, I’m sold. And the sneak peek video was beautiful. I loved the honest assortment of excited expressions from the face of Mr. Bruno. They reminded me of Mr. Fenn’s expressions when telling tales from his recent Sage videos. Enthusiasm abounds from those who truly enjoy life.

        1. 411 is the number for “Information” – reminds me of SB 152 about the little boy calling “Information” for big problems like a cut finger or math problems. This # is important for another reason (Sorry can not say more) –
What Forrest added at the end of the SB is also important – or so I think – JDA

  2. Cannot wait to read the new book, and still in the chase….Love the Forward and the Artwork!! Let’s all have a party and read the new book and give it all the reviews it deserves and then sit and think a while about where that DARN treasure really is!!! Thanks, Ms. Girl

  3. Here’s one from my scrapbook. My brother and I were heading for my old site when we saw a group of photographers in a pullout and stopped. One of them graciously let us use their scope to view a sow and cub strolling away up the valley on the opposite side, about a mile away. I sent a quick text home, “Griz,” before we continued into the zone of no cell reception. So Beth spent the next few hours wondering if I’d been eaten before I could finish typing-

  4. Looking forward to getting my hands on the new memoir when it is available. Great videos JC1117 and Buckeye Bob LOL. The memoir will make for good winter reading.

I think about retiring too someday… but those are mostly dreams. I’m thinking about planning a fishing trip. I figure it’s easier to catch a fish than the treasure though that will depend on what’s biting out there.
