Weekly Words from Forrest Fenn

Weekly Words for May 13th, 2016 are as follows and are combined with the Featured Question:

Mr. Fenn: How far is the chest located from the blaze? ~ casey

Casey, I did not take the measurement, but logic tells me that if you don’t know where the blaze is it really doesn’t matter. If you can find the blaze though, the answer to your question will be obvious. Does that help?f

  1. Hello from Brazil, All. Can a little girl (or boy) in Brazil get past the first 2 clues any easier? Perhaps there’s an advantage to living in the Southern Hemisphere. Or would I just be swirling down a rabbit hole in the opposite direction?

This question and answer leads me to believe that there are coordinates to be found in the poem, somehow. I’ll have to ponder that.

“How far is the chest located from the blaze?”

Where is fancy bred? In the heart…or in the head?

Thanks for the new question and answer Forrest, Jenny and Casey.

        1. Thanks for the compliment Friend, although I do like to share the love, be careful with how you mean it. And with my line of thinking, I would not assume to know anything. My conclusion was from the poem, “If you’ve been Wise”, for me the distance is nothing more than an educated guess. When I said I think, I didn’t say I know, and since this doesn’t help, I hope it doesn’t hurt. Also, I like the way your vibrant personality appears so openly in your writing style, bet your a fun person to hang with.:)

  2. So, I guess all that’s needed now is knowledge of the UCC uniform commercial code, at the CC’s; DNA helix on Forrest, Eric, Skippy, and Kammerer; coordinates to 6 different 69 locations all on the coffin bone; ALL valorously worth the cold temp of 67 tecolody owls of course! No worries. Well, silly Me, I thought he said, you only need to have the last clue correctly solved to “plot the X” on the plat. LOL 😉

  3. If he did not take a measurement that means a measurement is available. Than he states if you don’t know where the blaze is, that it doesn’t matter. This means that you have to find the blaze first. If you have found the blaze, the visual will give you your answer as to how far the chest is away. I don’t think he is combining the two but separating them. But the best answer is in the poem.

    OH!
    1. Wow, everyone has so many places with confidence but only one place to find indulgence. I don’t think I’m close and the best time to go skinny dipping is when the weather is the hottest unless I have company and my wife to keep me warm. It might be hard to talk her into this one.

  4. I read this as a answer to the question of “where”. If you haven’t found the BLAZE yet it really doesn’t matter! Why would it not matter? is this not suppose to last 100 years? Everyone is reading everything that f says but I see very very little if people reading it with there solve. I see everyone reading these MW as though one is expecting a answer to a quiz. I can say, with a positive attitude, that all of the quotes, words
and blog comments made by f that he is helping the people who understand the poem. We all know a red neck hillbilly wit 12 kids and a broken down truck will not be the one to decipher this poem. But, if you read what f has been graciously giving to us all and been paying close attention to everything so far and read with the ability that f wrote with then the answers start coming out of the clouds. Is everyone reading HOB as the Home Of Brown or could it really be interpreted as the beginning to the end?
The answer is in the wind and in the Poem.

    1. And also:

“You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.”

      – Sherlock Holmes

For example, we see a blaze and a chest all the time. I observe that the blaze is 17 words away from the chest in the poem.

Coincidentally, there are seventeen steps from the hall to this room in which Holmes is having this conversation with Watson (A Scandal in Bohemia).

You might then want to conclude that the blaze is seventeen steps from the chest. But you couldn’t, because you didn’t observe it.

    2. So right Jeremy,
Like that crazy sunset this evening, how could you miss it, and yet many did. This one was beautiful all around with colors popping that I had never seen before. The west was a beautiful red, orange and yellow with clouds, north and east, fantastic with purple highlights but my favorite was due south, the red colors streaking across the sky with huge white puffy number nine clouds billowing up above creating a spectacular contrast and top that off with the almost full moon. Yep south was calling my name tonight. Serenity overflowing and I know just who to Thank:)

  5. Pingback: A Journey - Page 1191

    1. Maybe Mr. Fenn is out with his fly pole Nope. If I had my way I would be too. There’s no better place to be this time of year than looking down a creek filled with promising native trout. And from the looks of the tape he’s fishing for 16 to 29 inchers. OK that maybe a slight stretch.
