681, Sacred Marriage, and Rennes-le-Chateau

Hidden Hexagram in Poussin Et in Arcadia Ego Painting

The Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau is an enduring and tasty conundrum for adventurers, treasure hunters, conspiracy theorists, and your run of the mill mad hatters. I have been blessed to discover yet another layer to the mystery that I would like to share in this article.

What exactly did the priest Berenger Sauniere discover in this remote village in southern France? Was it Documents proving Christ and Mary Magdalene were hubby and wife? The Ark of the Covenant? The Masonic Lost Word? How to bring aliens to earth using landscape pentagrams? How to conjure the devil? Everyone who has an interest in this mystery has their own spin or interpretation of it. That is just a handful of ideas of what it might have been, or is.

For my purpose here, I would like to focus on the numbers 681 that are found in one of the secret decoded messages from the famous Priory of Sion documents, which reads commonly as:

As many of you are aware of the research of Mr. Duncan Burden, I have taken the liberty to assume some knowledge in that department from most of my readers. I always have an interest in vindicating Mr. Burden’s theories, as they tie in with my own findings. The central part of Mr. Burden’s theory is that the ‘Key’ referred to in the decoded Priory of Sion message refers to the Hexagram, also known as Solomon’s Seal or the Star of David. I agree with this theory and fits very nicely with another finding of my own regarding the numbers 681.

In the articles of Duncan Burden, he demonstrated how a tilted Hexagram, formed by interlocking the Meno Square with an inner circle and producing tilted triangles was encoded into two paintings of Nicholas Poussin and David Teniers, the two painters referred to in the Priory document.

Mr. Burden went on to explain that this was a symbol for Divine Creation and the Trinity and how one shape’s properties produces the properties of another shape, and how one geometric shape grows into another and how the marriage of two shapes, such as the circle and squares, produce a perfect Hexagram. Then it was explained that the numbers 681 refers to the sides of each shape that produces this Key. Pretty marvelous geometric construction. I like it! But there’s an even more amazing link with this.

A familiar verse of the Bible talks about two things existing as one: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1

I have found that this geometry also mathematically demonstrates one of the central doctrines of the Christian Faith, called the Incarnation. This is the Doctrine that holds that Jesus Christ was not only the Divine Son of God, but also God in the flesh. In other words, Christ was both God AND Man at the same time. The tilted Hexagram is also made up of two squares, one circle and two triangles overlapping one another, which symbolizes harmony, marriage, union and creation, where two or three different things combine to make a new thing. So imagine my surprise when I made another discovery about what occurred in the year 681 AD.

The debate over the true nature of Christ has been a central issue and mystery in the Christian world for centuries. There are many schools of thought on this. Was Jesus adopted by God at baptism? Was He just a holy prophet of God and nothing more? Was the Christ a separate nature that rested on the man Jesus and left Him at death? Is the Doctrine of the Trinity a late invention that has roots in Greek polytheism? Or is it as many verses of the Bible state and Jesus Christ really was two different things at once?

As far as Christian authority goes, the council that met at “Istanbul, not Constantinople now” concluded that Christ was indeed possessed of two natures and two wills, Divine and Human. If the Key of the Priory of Sion and Rennes-le-Chateau mystery really is the tilted Hexagram, which I believe it is, and since the Hexagram symbolizes two different things at once and the numbers 681 that produce it, it a very remarkable coincidence that one of the major councils of the Christian faith that concluded that Christ was two things at the same time occurred in the same numbered year as 681.

Many, many, many people really do believe that the secret of Rennes-le-Chateau was knowledge of the secret marriage between a Divine Man and a Human Woman, which produced a Divine Bloodline. Perhaps this is just a cover story for another Truth about how Two very different things come together to produce something extraordinary. For folks like Mr. Burden, it’s a Key that unlocks Divine Creation in three dimensions. This Key also explains why the Lost Word of a Master Mason could not be revealed without the presence of Three. Another Key that demonstrates this is the Pythagorean Theorem!

Is it also a Key that proves that Mankind is a Divine Product, with Body and Spirit and that this life is merely a temporary veil separating the Divine World?

Enjoy your research, Nate. Lots of excellent questions, and they of course will promote finding the best answers.

Thanks for sharing. Love Rennes le Chateau and the mystery it keeps.

Thanks so much Jenny! A pleasure as always to share these findings.

Great reveal Nate, thank you. Maybe consider that it’s perhaps less coincidence and more consequence.

Also.. when I look at 681.. I see a numerology binomial.. 6 and 15.. or 2.2.2 and 5.5.5 … which I view as the true measure of man.. take the Tre of Life > the Triangle.. “pull apart” the angles.. V V V

Thanks for the article, seems like I have seen that geometry some place before. I will chase that thought in my head for a couple of days to come

From an historical (less conspiracy centered) perspective, Berenger Sauniere didn’t discover anything except how to scheme people out of money. He was later defrocked by the Church. The “parchments” were made famous by Gerard de Sede in his book “L’Or de Rennes” (1967) which was based very loosely on stories told by Noel Corbu in the 1950s.

The original stories by Corbu suggested the source of Sauniere’s wealth was the treasure of Blanche of Castile, which he found thanks to some “parchments” he found in the altar.

After the stories became somewhat famous, Gerard de Sede borrowed the parchment idea and changed the nature of the “parchments” to fit the storyline for his book. He also created the fictitious “Priory of Sion” for his story and fabricated some parchments to support his book. And since he was the one who created the parchments (along with Pierre Plantard), he made them nice and juicy to suit his story.

After Gerard de Sede’s story gained fame, the BBC picked it up, presented it as “fact” in some documentaries in the 1970s, not knowing that the parchments were fake.

Then in 1982, we get the popular book “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” which adds to the fun.
And Dan Brown followed up with “The Da Vinci Code”.

It’s taken on a life of its own.
Or maybe I’m just working with those who are trying to suppress the conspiracy.

      Hi Martin,

I would agree with you that most of the tales surrounding Berenger Sauniere are mythical, but don’t focus on the Da Vinci Code hype.

Focus, instead, on the geometry. The secret is pure mathematics!

      • MartinS says:

        Hi Nate,

The Priory “document” was a forgery.

        The “Priory” itself was fictitious.

I guess I’m somewhat confused by the pursuit of a “secret” that’s based on fake documents that were made to sell a work of fiction.

        • Jenny Kile says:

That’s an opinion MartinS. And although shared by many, it isn’t shared by all.

So much is’shady’ within this area of research that the Truth of all involved is not entirely known. There are many who believe the ‘Priory’ or Sauniere held secrets of some kind. What were they?

It’s possible the forged documents were based off of other documents- of some significant value-

no one knows…. that’s the reason why for the research…

If you are satisfied with your conclusions, that is fine, but not everyone has to share those conclusions. And many don’t.

        • Nate Beck says:

Fake documents maybe. But last time I checked, math and geometry aren’t fake Martin lol
